Well, last week was rough! I had an infection which caused a lot of pain and was not able to eat the proper foods for the proper week I am on since my surgery. I was also dehydrated. I am now in my fourth week after surgery. I am doing well, other than the infection. I hope to start an excercise routine this week, if all goes well. I go back for my 4 week checkup and first fill on Nov. 6th.

Well, I made it through the first two weeks. It wasn't easy, but I did it. I've lost about 15 pounds in two weeks and I'm so proud of myself. I still feel hungry most the time and that is rough. I just keep reminding myself that I'm getting my sexy back! Lord know's I need it back along with my self esteem. My husband has been so supportive and wonderful. He's always supportive and has never made me feel "FAT". So of coarse, I was in denial for so long. Seems like one day I looked in the mirror and there stood someone I didn't know any more. Well, that's all going to change and I am making it happen one day at a time. I go back to see my Dr. on Nov. 6th for my 4 week checkup and first fill. I hope to loose at least 25 pounds by then. But for now I'm just happy that I've lost 15. Go Me!!!!:clap2:

Hello, Just 2 weeks post op!
Nettie replied to edwardma39's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Tomorrow marks two weeks post op for me as well. I can sleep on my right side but not my left. Not sure why. I have lost about 15 pounds in two weeks and now my port seems to be sticking out and is rather irritating. I can feel it when I put my hand over the site. Any problems with your port? -

I Am So Weak I Feel Like My Blood Was Drained Help/
Nettie replied to jamietindall19's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was very weak and sick in the mornings in my first week. I'm now in week two and feeling much better. My Dr. told me that my blood sugar could be dropping too low at night and told me to make sure to eat or drink something with a lot of protein just before bed. The liquid diet is rough, but it will get better!! Good luck to you! -
Wow, 17 pounds is great! I was also banded on Oct. 5, 2007. I lost 10 pounds in the first 6 days. Not sure how much I've lost since the 11th. I don't own a scale so I have not weighed myself since my one week followup. I am now in week two and on creamy Soups and yogurt. I've been doing the Carnation Instant Breakfast to. I hope you continue to do well. Good luck to you!

You should talk to your doctor about the discomfort. I know it's not a subject we all want to talk about but hey, it's a normal life function. Even religious people have sex. You know, I'll just be glad when I can get my legs over my head again. LOL!!

Tomorrow is the big day. Come on people!
Nettie replied to intheburgh's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You will be just fine. I had my lap band surgery on Oct. 5th just one week and 4 days ago. I feel great and you will to. I was extremely nervous about the surgery. I just lost a family member in Sept. when he went in for surgery on his kidney, so I almost backed out. I would say, make sure you know everything you can about your surgeon. You will be fine and you will be glad you done it. I lost 10 pounds in the first 6 days after surgery. Not sure how much I've lost now. I don't even own a scale. Best of luck to you on your journey!!! -
Hi Mike, I'm fairly new to this site as well. I was just banded on Oct. 5th and I came back to work this week. The first week was a little rough on me. My sugar kept dropping from the diet they had me on. But I'm doing better now. I lost 10 pounds in the first 6 days. I can't wait to see the new me!

Need Advice From Mom's of Youg Kids
Nettie replied to Jaeric's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had lap band surgery on Oct. 5th. I have a 7, 4, and 2 year old. I did have help the weekend of my surgery. My sister n law took my kids home with her for the weekend. I was pretty sick for the first week, mostly due to the diet I was on after surgery. My sugar kept dropping at night and I was weak and didn't feel like doing much at all. My doctor said I was not allowed to lift my kids for a few weeks. So if you can get help with the kids you should. Best of luck!!! -
I've Been Banded!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oct. 5, 2007

Well, I was banded on Oct. 5, 2007 by Dr. Ponce in Dalton, Ga. :clap2: It has been a little over one week since my surgery. The first week was hard :sick. I was hungry and weak :whoo:. I was getting in my calories but not enough sugar so I had a rough week :faint:. I'm back at work now. I went for my one week follow up just six days after my surgery and I had lost 10 pounds already!!!! :clap2: I couldn't believe it. I've done great at sticking to the proper lap band diet they put you on just after being banded. It has not been easy, but I made the commitment before surgery to follow the rules and that's what I plan to do. I know with the help of LapBand Talk I can do it! I'm looking forward to my 4 week followup to see how much weight I have lost by then. I'll keep it posted! I can't wait for some solid food :hungry:! -

Anyone use Dr. Jaime Ponce in GA?
Nettie replied to Nettie's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Well, Dr. Ponce's office has been very helpful but the confusion has been very irritating. My surgery had to be rescheduled due to my bloodwork results not being sent in time. I had no idea they didn't have my results until the day before I was scheduled for surgery. Now I have to wait another week before I can have surgery. It was crazy trying to work out the details of who I pay for what. But, we finally got it worked out and the ladies in the office know me by my first name. They have been helpful and nice. Hopefully the confusion is now over and I will be banded Oct. 5th. :clap2: -
Well, I was scheduled for surgery on Sept. 26th and that did not happen. :faint:The hospital messed up and didn't do my blood tests and the Dr.'s office didn't call to let me know they had not received the results until Sept. 25th :whoo:. So, needless to say my surgery had to be rescheduled and I had to have my bloodwork redone. I am now scheduled for surgery on Oct. 5th. Just a week and one day away. :clap2: I just keep reminding myself that everything happens for a reason and only God know's the reason behind the delay and the mess ups. So I'm waiting patiently for another week. The hardest part is finding a sitter for my three babies. Now I'll have to work all that out again for a new surgery date. :phanvan Nettie

Anyone use Dr. Jaime Ponce in GA?

Dr. Ponce's cash price was 13,800.00! -
Wow, my surgery is now only one week away on Wednesday Sept. 26th :clap2:. I am excited and scared :omg: at the same time. I went for my pre-op class yesterday where I learned proper eating habits :hungry: and met others that will be getting the lap band. I will have my hietal hyrnia repaired when they put in my band which can cause more swelling and a little longer recovery time, but I'm ready! On another note... I lost my brother in law last week 9/12/07 after he went in for surgery to remove a tumor on his kidney. :think There were complications during surgery and he lost too much blood and suffered a heart attack. He passed the day after he had surgery. This has been very tramatic for me and made me even more nervous. No surgery is minor surgery! I'm just praying  that God will watch over me through this journey and give me the strength to get through each day one day at a time!!!!
