plateau problem

Hi, I'm at a stand still and have been for a couple of months. I go to the gym 3 times a week, but I'm struggling emotionally with my eating and for meal ideas. Please if anyone has got some ideas on how to get off this plateau and get the weight loss going again, would be greatly appreciated. Please help, I need support, and noone seems to see my cries for help. I'm starting to feel like a failure again. Penny:sad_smile:

    plateau problem

Thank you so much everyone for replying so quickly. I really needed those supporting words. I think everyone seems to agree that mydailyplate.com is the best idea, plus extra cardio would help. Thank you again Penny:regular_smile:

  5.
Hi, I've been banded since the 9th Oct 07 with a 4cc band. I started at 277p and went for my First fill on the 9/11/07 I was 260p had a fill of 1.5cc

Second fill was 30/11/07 I was 249p had a fill of 1cc

so I have a total of 2.5cc

I don't have restriction, cause when I eat I have to make a point of stopping myself because I don't feel full or hungry, and I wouldn't say content because I feel I could eat somemore. It will be a week on friday since my second fill so I'm thinking that I should give it more time, but then I feel I'm wasting time because I know I don't have restriction. Any advice would be helpful thanks

Banded by Dr B Bowden

Brisbane 277pounds

277/248/165

Start/current/goal

    2nd fill down

I'm almost at the 2 month mark, but not quiet. Since my first fill on the 9/11/07 when I weighed in at 118.6kg, I have lost 6kg in 3 weeks. I did feel I wasn't getting the restriction so on the 30/11/07 I went and had my 2nd fill. I had 1.5cc put in on my first fill and 1cc on my second so I have 2.5cc in my band now, definitely noticed a difference. I have yet to work out how to put photos on this website.

    Port Dramas

Hi, I found in one of my incisions something I could feel sticking out, that felt like fishing line, is the best way to describe it. I gave it a tug and felt some resistance so I left it, worried I was going to do some damage. A couple of weeks later I saw my doc and told him, he reassured me that it was ok, as it was a dissolvable stitch that when dissolving can pop up and become visable through the incision. He even said that I could have pulled it out, so I'd check with doc but it sounds pretty much what I experienced and it will be ok. Hope this puts you at ease somewhat. I know when I found mine and pulled it I was so worried. Cheers Penny:girl_hug:

    judgemental people......

I can't believe some of the things that so called family and friends have said to you guys. I know that when I decided to have my op nothing was going to change my mind. I had one sister ask questions and was really interested and I thought that was great, since my op she doesn't say much and seems to be a little jealous. My other sister just said 'what ever works for you, good luck' it was more what she didn't say that I picked up all the doubt. Now my brother was so negative about the whole thing in the sense that he actually believes its going to be just another wl effort that I'm going to fail at. I couldn't believe it, my brother and I are closest and I expected more support from him. Mum believes in me, and Dad has doubts but hopes for the best for me. As far as friends go I had mixed reactions, but there was one person that told me about a bad story she'd heard and told me she really didn't think I should get it done, but she struggles with her weight and I know she said those things out of jealousy, thank god she's not someone I see often, but when I loose a lot I'll be sure to go see her. DH is the best support I could ask for. And my 4 year old son is also my biggest support.:kiss2:

    hanging in there

10 days after surgery and I'm healing well. I went and saw the dietican today about going to my puree stage, exciting the taste of real food. My first mushie meal was chicken, pumpkin and potato, not bad. I will have to get use to the puree, not the nicest texture.:girl_hug: :faint:Still feel a little faint today, not quiet a 100% yet. Feeling:tired now, talk later

    I'm home

:banditBandit am I. Sorry it's taken so long to report, I had a so so week. Op went well, but hubby said that apparently they keep me a little longer in recovery until they thought I was alright. Very groggy only remember my DH here and there, was out of bed later that night to go to toilet. I got home just after lunch time and settled into bed for some more rest. Pain wasn't intolerable with constant pain killers, remember that one, wether you feel ok or not. A little bit of shoulder tip pain in my left shoulder but I would have to say I got a fair bit of pain down my left side with my ribs. :sicksick from the antibioctics the doc gave me, which lead to me not drinking all my shakes, which in turn made me go downhill in regards to energy. Couldn't pour a glass of drink or have a shower or walk to the lounge room without legs shaking and seeing colours while feeling like I was going to faint:faint:Spoke to dietican and she told me I really needed the 3 shakes a day to stablise my blood pressure and energy levels. :bounce:1 week after surgery now and 15.6lbs, yes Ossie's 7.1kgs a little to much according to my nurse and dietican, but I'm definitly on the mend now. :girl_hug:Thank you K for asking how I am, catch you soon girl.:whoo:

    Tomorrow's B day

Tomorrow's the day everything will change, everything going to plan that is. I saw my doctor today and he said there may be a slight chance my liver could still be to big. That's got me worried because he said if the liver is too fatty still he won't put the band in for another 2 weeks. Today is the day my DH said that it's actually hit me, I've been out of sorts, not talking, worried and now concerned about this possible problem with my liver. Worried about the risks and my little ones and there reactions to anything that may go wrong. I am very positive about anything going wrong its just the liver that worries me.:nervous:cry:eek: So DH and I are dropping the kids at my parents in the morning, then off to the hospital for an 11.30am start, and my op is happening at 1.30pm, back to the ward about 4pm and I'm in for the night.:omg: Here's hoping everything goes alright. Bye junk food, bye fatty food, bye fat reflection, bye no confidence, hello new me, a happy me, a healthy new me. Please GOD give me the strength to do well in every aspect of my life, especially this battle with my weight and to understand the reasons behind it. AMEN:help: I will check back in when I get home from hospital and are up to reporting, see you soon:clap2:

  19. 2 days left and a little nervous to say the least. Thanks Karen for your well wishes, I really needed that. I know I'm only in hospital for one night but I'm going to miss my little ones, I think I'm getting more upset about it because of what I'm about to go through, I want them to be proud of their mummy. I want to be proud of myself.:speechles Regardless I'm going to do my best.

    OMG nearly there

2 days left til op on Tuesday. Just nervous I'd say, I'll leave the excited for after the op. I don't want to think about it until I have to.:nervous I'm nervous about the op and about the amount of restriction I will or won't have until my first fill. I'm seeing Dr Bowden tomorrow for the last time until my op the next day, I hope he will be happy with my 10lb loss, I wish it was more.:embarassed: My 4 year old son is worried about mummy and wishes he was allowed to visit me that night in hospital but we thought it would be best for his little sister and him to not see me till I come home. I've reassured him that mummy will be ok and that I will see him the next day. It's just that he's been to hospital twice in the last year and a bit and he knows that people go to the hospital when their sick or hurt. I did explain to him that mummy's having an op to help her lose weight and be thin like him, then he was ok:girl_hug::nervous:cry

  22. Hey Karen and everyone needing a chat, I've got 3 days till being banded on the 9/10/07. I've never had one doubt in my mind that I'm doing the right thing. I'm so positive and excited about my new journey, that's not to say I think its going to be easy. I woke up this morning and thought I've only got a couple of days till my op, and I have to say I started to feel sick from fear I guess and tears welled in my eyes and Ifeelt like crying, I've got no idea why, scared I suppose of the big change in my life and can I do it. 10lbs down on pre op diet:whoo:By for now I'll report in before I have my op on tuesday:omg:

    Day 8 pre op

1 week left until my op, very excited and can't wait for my new journey to begin. I think the best way to look at this new lifestyle is to think positive and believe in yourself that it's going to happen, its really just a matter of how much time it will take to lose it all. A couple of weeks ago I started doubting my strength and will to suceed with this, leaving me to think that maybe I'll be a failure at this to. But then I started reading and seeing all the amazing success stories and it really inspired me enough to start believing in myself.

    Day 4 pre op

Gee whiz, day 4 and I can't wait to get my band. I need the restriction, this optifast doesn't do a very good job of making you feel full. I do alright in the morning, around lunch a little :hungry: to say the least. I have my shake and make it through till arvo, and that's when I really struggle, so tempted to have something with some body to it. Early evening I have some vege soup and if I need it I fill up on water and diet cordial for the evening. That's how my days have been going, such a full time effort getting through, and that's while I look after my 4 and 1 year olds. They do help sometimes to take my mind of food. Anyway these were my starting numbers Dr Bowden Brisbane, Australia To be banded on 9/10/07 :whoo: Starting weight for diet pre band 25/9/07 -127.4kgs Bust - 52 inchs waist - 54 hips - 61 thigh - R -33, L-31 calves - R-18 1/2, L-18 1/2 arms - R-18, L-19 See you later, thanks for listening
