Hello, I am so glad to see this thread I was beginning to feel alone in the amount of weight I have to loose. My Dr. did not have a scale that could weigh me.(It only went 350 lbs) So I bought a scale and weighed myself when I got home from Mexico I was a little shocked to see that I was at 428. My high before that was 407 and I had just did the liquid diet and was sure I lost some. I was banded 1-12-08 and am down 19 lbs and it is such an inspiration to read your stories! Thanks, Jen

Hi Everyone, I was banded on Jan. 12 in TJ Mexico. I did not even know what my pre-band weight was and when I went to have surgery and the Dr. was going to weigh me he could not because the scale only went to 350, kinda frustrating when your weight loss Dr. does not have a scale that can weigh you! I had ordered one with a capacity of 440 before I left because the last time I had been weighed I was around 400- 407 lbs. I did good on my pre-op diet so I was sure I had lost some weight when I returned home I finally got to weigh myself and it was 428! I thought this thing has to be broken how could I have gained 20 + lbs and not even known it. Well anyway I was so glad to see the #'s going down but now it is lingering around the same # I even started walking, but yesterday I was supposed to start purees and I have no idea what to eat. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Jeni, I had my surgery on the 12th so we are both in the liquid stage. For me right now the best thing to hold off the hunger is no sugar carnation instant Breakfast. Good Luck!

Sunshine, Those are great ideas. She actually took her first steps while I was in Mexico! The little stinker. I know that not being able to pick her up is only temporary.

Sunshine, I will be so glad if the gas is gone in a week :tt1: My Daughter is about 20 Lbs and I have not been lifting her. It is hard though she is only 10 Months old. Thank you for the advice

Luckily I am a stay at home mom and my parents have been coming over to help with the baby since I am not supposed to lift her. How long was it before the gas went away?

Hi Everyone, Thanks for the support! My husband and I flew back last night. I'm doing except whenever I drink something my tummy grumbles and i get lots of gas and pain. Is this what happened with any of you? how soon until it went away? I will post more later...just taking it easy right now

Omlagirl, My flight is tomorrow and I am scheduled to have surgery Saturday. I am very nervous! too bad I had to cancel the first time or we would be at the same point. Well thank you for checking in on me and please wish me luck!

Well after having to reschedule my surgery the first time I am excited and really nervous to be starting my preop liguid diet today. Does anyone have a suggestion on what really helped you get through this stage? Also scared to death about the surgery but I guess more scared about what might happen if I don't have it... Sigh
