Best decision I have ever made
Melissa Ayodele posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey all. I'm Melissa, and I was sleeved on November 13 2013. I started my journey weighing 340 lbs, got down to 290 my 2 week pre op, and today I weigh 227 lbs. I feel absolutely amazing. I never really notice the difference until I see pics but I'm now able to do so many things I felt I was missing out on. I run 3 miles a day, do kick boxing 6 days a week and start every morning off with my Protein shake and an insanity DVD. This is just the beginning of my journey, I am so anxious to see what's next. -

Would love to share. I don't do carbs, they hurt my belly. I eat mostly veggies and protein such as fish, turkey, and sometimes beef. I also make sure I get in two protein shakes a day. If I want something sweet I eat grapes or a banana and it satisfies my craving. I'm never really hungry i mostly eat because I know I have to get something into my body. -

Yes, your calculations are right... I can't even believe it myself. I nearly fainted when my surgeon weighed me today. I never step on the scale, I don't want the numbers to over come me. I just stay focused an work hard. I went from a 24 to a 16. 3x to a lg. thank you so much -
Question. I'm at 4 weeks Nddoin my normal walking, but I am so ready to up my work outs. I believe my doctor instructed my to wait for th 6 week mark to begin strength training and heavy cardio. Anyone have any advice?

Butterthebean, thank so much. That is great advice. What are some things I can slowly start off with? Just to be on the safe side. As you said the surgery was def major and I don't want to push the beginning too much.

Scary how wondedul recovery feels

I was sleeved on November 13. The first few days were rough, very... Who am I kidding. The first week was prob the most difficult challenge. I am still surrounded daily by food. I am a mother and a wife full time so I have to continue to cook daily for my family. I always knew I could do it. I'm not at all bothered being around food. My eye is on the prize and he prize is much bigger than a plate of food that would probably only satisfy me for a short while. Anywho I don't want to ramble on I just want to say that some days are better than others, but most days I feel fantastic. So well in fact I forget I even had a major surgery. My surgeon instructed no serious workouts until 6 weeks so my progress will pick up when I can sweat like a pig, for now in just 4 weeks I am happily down 50 lbs. God is so good an my sleeve is wonderous! My before 4 weeks -

You look wonderful! I was wondering. Clots and a leak are two things I fear. How'd your mom become aware of having clots?
