I need suggestions please!!! I've been banded since 12/19/13 and lost 89lbs so far. The past few months I've been struggling with weight loss because I can't go to the gym anymore because of severe vertigo. My surroundings seem to spin around me when I am sitting/standing perfectly still. The vertigo is due to rhinitis and my sinuses are usually blocked around this time of year when Molds are high in Texas. I'm hoping you have suggestions as to what exercises I can do that don't require me to move my head a lot. I tried doing squats yesterday and that seemed okay as long as I use a chair for balance. I usually walk on the treadmill when I'm at the gym but I can barely walk in a straight line right now and I don't want others to see me stumbling around like a drunk so I'd like to exercise in the comfort of my own home until my vertigo goes away. ????

Thanks BLERDgirl! I saw an ENT and he wasn't very helpful but a friend at work just gave me her ENTs info and I've made an appt to see her. I also went and saw an Allergist Tuesday to help with my Mold and Pollen sensitivity. I'm also taking Fluticasone spray and Zyrtec daily. I'm thinking my sinuses are blocked again so they'll probably have me do a CAT scan and go from there. I feel your struggle girl! Vertigo is no joke. But I do kind of enjoy being chauffeured around. Lol

So, today I decided to start a 5 day pouch test because I felt like I was eating more than I was previously and felt like I needed a "restart". I've done the 5 day pouch test previously and it helped me out of a plateau, so I'm trying to do it every couple of months just to keep myself on track. Anywho, all went well with my first day of liquids until I got home and started slicing up summer sausage and cheese for my little one. Without thinking, I popped a slice of cheese and sausage in my mouth and didn't realize what I'd done until I was reaching for another slice. *facepalm* My question is this for those of you who've done the test; do you think I need to start my first day of liquids over again or should I just keep going and not screw up again? The good news is, after eating that little bit of cheese and meat, I'm feeling satisfied and no longer need to drink my last protein shake of the day...yay!

Four months ago yesterday marked my 4 month bandiversary...I am down 58.6 lbs as of this morning! I tried on one of my old spring dresses from last year that was feeling a little (a lot) tight and it's now comfortably loose and almost touches the ground in the back because my butt is shrinking! Lol... I'm one of those people who loses weight in the bust, butt and fingers first...I wish I could direct that loss to my stomach area! I had a rough first month after surgery when one of my wounds became infected but looking back, it was all worth it! Happy Easter everyone!

I went in this morning to have my incision checked yet again. Last night, I went to take a shower and pulled the gauze off my largest incision to find that the gauze pulled away the dermabond and left me a great big red gaping oozy hole. Yuck! I went into panic mode and then decided to go ahead and shower and just take good care to rinse my wound. I called the on-call doc because it was still oozing and just looking really ragged and red and she said that as long as I didn't have a fever or my wound didn't start looking/feeling worse, it could wait til morning. I had my wound rinsed out with saline in the office and covered in gauze and instructed to do this for 7 days. When I'm at home, I was told to let it air out so it can heal faster and only wear gauze when I'm out and about or at work. I was also advised that I will not be getting my adjustment next week until this stupid wound closes up. I am not a happy camper. :/

I'm glad someone else knows my frustration. I've done everything as instructed but it seems that this incision is just a bit ornery and does what it wants. Luckily, I listened when we were told to not be afraid to call the on-call doc if we had any questions/concerns because that is what they are there for. I'm trying to have patience with my healing phase because I feel like I'm ready to get out there and starting working on losing this weight! Lol

I'm 8 days post-op and I told the nurse about my weepy incisions at my appointment on Thursday and she checked them and said they looked great and to put gauze over them if they kept at it. However, I forgot to ask about the itchiness!!! The itchiness is not the incision site itself but the skin surrounding them. It's driving me bonkers and I'm trying my best not to scratch! Almost as bad as when I was pregnant and my tummy would itch like crazy. Plus, the skin is really dry and sensitive...can I put anything on the skin around my incisions to help? And is this normal? ????

Ugh! I think I had too much of my drink too fast! My stomach was feeling really bloated so I took GasEx and sat down hoping for the pain to pass...instead, I started to feel nauseas and headed into the bathroom to perch on the porcelain throne for a bit. At this point, I was praying to sweet Baby Jesus to please let me survive this experience so I could learn from it. Two trips to the bathroom later, I'm feeling a little better and I'm laying down to rest for a bit. Just wanted to share my experience so I could remind myself and other newly banded peeps the importance of sipping your drinks slowly.

I'm scheduled for lap band Dec 19th! Woohoo! So excited to continue this weight loss journey. I'm currently 29lbs down from my heaviest weight due to the pre-op diet and I'm 10 days into my liquid diet with no cheating. I've only entrusted my nearest and dearest with the news of my surgery, everyone else thinks I'm having a hernia repair (which is true). I'm praying for a speedy recovery and hoping to live a longer, healthier and more active life for myself, my 18 month old and my wonderful hubby!
