    Any Canadians Out There?

Hi there, sorry for late reply but I haven't been on here for a while. Keep going with the optifast hun, it gets easier as you go, at first I couldn't stomach it and I was only havering 2 a day and almost starving, I took advantage of drinking a lot of water and sf jello helped, sipping hot chicken broth is great too. I met a woman at Toronto Western Hospital that went on the operating table and they stopped the surgery cuz her liver was still enlarged with fat, so she has to do it all over again, that scared me enough not to cheat. Hopefully this was helpful hun, oh also keep busy, I was moving and was so busy I didn't think about it after the first week I was rocking the optifast lol

    Anyone from Ontario on here?

Hi all, I haven't been on here for a few weeks but I DID IT! May 28 was my day and I ended up havering the RNY bypass, my surgeon explained that the sleeve still doesn't have enough research on it and he's getting sleeve patients coming in with problems and the RNY has been around for 30 years and is proven most successful. I haven't been on because during my optifast pre. Op diet I was also in the middle of moving from Brampton to Shelburne. The optifast was definitely the hardest the first 3 days, then it was a piece of cake, maybe because I was so busy from morning till night but I lost 12 lbs in that week and a half on it. I'm down 20lbs now including the 12 . It's been 1 weeks today since surgery and I'm doing great, sometimes I feel like I didn't have the surgery! No pain thank God, I was up and walking the day of surgery and I think that helped too. Any questions feel free my bariatric friends xoxo

Does it last for days or hours or what? I heard heating pads help too
  4. Hi all, I went to the baby section at Walmart and bought a pack of 8 baby spoons and baby food containers with lids that are freezer and microwave safe
  5. Wow this is great! I thought I was a May 28th loner! lol. I'm also a touch moody because of this liquid diet, no food for be other that optifast sf jello and a cup of chicken broth! I operate the control room at Toronto Pearson and when my crew came in to sign out someone made a comment jokingly how I was in a bad mood today, also does anyone feel a little light headed? I did today
  6. Hi all, my big day is May 28! I'm so nervous yet excited to become healthier again. I started my 2 week liquid diet with optifast 4 times a day, I can have sf jello, sf Popsicles and drink that's it, it was so hard to make dinner tonight but I was good! Ok I licked the spoon after stirring the mashed potatoes but that's it! lol It did take me some getting used to the shake because I hate aspartame, but I'm doing it

I'm one week after you! May 28 is my big day, I'm also nervous and excited lol
  8. I am so happy I found this thread! I saw a surgeon that was supposed to be mine back in March, she mentioned that the sleeve would be beneficial to me because I don't have 100lbs to lose ( I'm 174 and 4'11) so I psyched myself that I'm getting the sleeve. Well, it's no longer going to be that surgeon but her partner now and I went to see him last week and he said no he's going to do the bypass instead because there isn't enough research on the sleeve and they are getting people coming back that we're sleeved to fix problems. I left in shock and disappointment however I'm now becoming used to the idea of the bypass, any thoughts on this? I though I was the only one lol

    Things I won't miss...

I read something today on Facebook that I never though of and like it...... WE ARE NOT FAT, WE HAVE FAT!! A small quote that meant huge to me, because well we are getting rid of the fat we have, however we are all the same person before and after our surgery, it's the people outside that make us feel like we are different because of the "fat" we are carrying, I hope this makes sense, it's 3:35am and I'm sleepy from a long night at work but I so look forward to coming on here before I go to bed and I couldn't wait to share this
