    Any May sleevers out there?

Not unheard of, I start a pre op diet 2 weeks before mine. I will be drinking a shake called optifast, it will shrink my liver and the fat around my liver to make it easier for the surgeon. That is as amazing gift to you Hun, a new life starting at 40 for you . My pre op is tomorrow and they're also going to be checking my gallbladder so it's going to be a long day, I'm nervous about the tube they are going to put down my throat, I will be sedated though

I'm going to ask my surgeon tomorrow at my pre op, after reading many posts gas x won't help because it's a different gas than we normally have because it's the air they blow our tummy up for surgery, I will keep you posted

    Any Canadians Out There?

Yes Dr. Aarts was going to do mine but she told me when I met her that it may be her partner Dr. Cyriac, I got the call for my date and they said it will be him, I have my pre op with dr aarts this Monday she will also be checking my gallbladder, she's so pleasant to deal with

    packing my bag

I think the heating pads are for the gas pains around the shoulders and such, I'd have to ask about the incisions, if she put heat there too

    packing my bag

I've been told that 2 heating pads are better by a friend of mine that had laprascoptic surgery so I'm bringing my heated throw, it's smaller than a blanket but big enough to wrap around me, $20 at Target in Buffalo I got it

    Surgery is in four days!

I've had surgery before and trust me the first time I felt the same anxieties you do, it was better than I ever thought and the same as the answers above, actually it's a great feeling a few seconds before you go under lol I even asked them if I could have more for home! Of course I was kidding, so you'll be fine and do great hun no worries )

    Tomorrow is the BIG day!

All the best, keep us posted, my day is the 28th of May and I'm excited and nervous already, I can't imagine the day before!
  20. Prayers and positive thinking for all of us on a speedy and healthy recovery, we will be fine, stronger and much more healthier after our surgery xoxo
  21. I do love my treadmill, I'm planning on learning to jog/run after my surgery, my big day is May 28th!
  22. I have been feeling the same! I feel like eating foods I normally stay away from as well, I normally watch what I eat like staying away from chocolates or proccutto and cheese, but this week I did indulge a bit, now I'm back to my salads meats and fruits. I know what you mean about wanting to eat everything before doing the pre op diet but we need to focus on preparing to change our eating lifestyle, the best of luck to us all

    XXX rated super serious question!

I just read all 7 pages! Hilarious and educational, love it!
  24. I read that the smaller the liver is the easier it is for the surgeon and LESS painful after the surgery, I am on a two week liquid diet. My surgery is April 11th. yes, I will be starting the Optifast drink 2 weeks pre op and you're right, it is to shrink your liver and the fat around it to make it easier for the surgeon to operate
