I have been struggling with my weight as long as I have had a memory! I decided to do weightloss surgery about 3 years ago when a friend of mine said that she was considering the lap band. so I jumped on the lap band wagon and started mentally preparing myself to do the same. the year after that, my sister and I were talking about the surgery and how it would make us feel better. She then told me that she had been considering it over the last year. that same year 2012, she went through with the surgery. I started the process Feb 2013 after I saw my sister, not for a lap band but for gastric sleeve. I chose my doctor the night of the siminar. I knew who I wanted...he was this short half balding white guy with a friendly smile. he didnt say much, but it was his smile! he was more real to me than the others. December 10th, was my surgery. recovery has been brutal but I am on my way to a healthier new me. I never have set a goal weight becuase that simply wasnt my focus. I suppose I will at my 2 week post op appointment. My body will loose what it needs to. God is in control of it all.
