  1. I am having such a difficult time with this 2 week preop liquid diet and I'm only on day 2. I'm starving and I want a huge cheeseburger but I know that if I do it, I'll get in that operating room and my liver will still be big and they won't operate on me. I'm on 2 protein shakes a day and full liquids but I just feel so tired with constant headaches so I had a half of glass of diet coke. I'm ready for my stomach to be smaller so I won't have this huge appetite anymore!!! #FeelingFrustrated#
  2. I'm happy that you're not giving up and have decided to continue on with your weight loss goals. I wish u all the luck and like I stated in another post, we should definitely keep in touch.

    January Surgeries

It is so nice to have a surgery buddy! We'll have to keep in touch and exchange pix!!! My preop 2 week liquid diet started yesterday and all I wanted was a juicy cheeseburger! But I persevered through it, so here's to day 2!!!
  4. Good luck tomorrow!!!!! Thoughts and prayers coming your way. Mine is the 16th!!
  5. My day one starts today!!! Not looking forward to it but if it gets me one step closer to my RNY on Jan 16th, then I'll do just about anything.
  6. My surgery is set for January 16th and I'm interested in knowing if I have anyone near me?!?!?

I would definitely stick to turkey, white meat only. Salad is good, without dressing, or maybe a light vinaigrette. Maybe there will be a veggie tray? Good luck to you!!!

  15. Surgery date for me is January 16th, I start my pre-op full liquid diet on January 2nd. I don't think it'll be that bad...I can have cream based soups, protein shakes and puddings.

BTW, my BMI was only 35.2, however, I have severe co-morbities that I believe helped to persuade Tricare to accept me, including severe high blood pressure (210/160), severe back pain, diabetes, high triglycerides (900's), and high cholesterol.

I don't know what type of Tricare you have but my first appointment with my primary care doctor (addressing weight loss surgery possibilities) was August 19, 2013 and my surgery date is January 16, 2014. I have Tricare Prime. All I had to do was: (in no particular order) 3 dietician appointments, exercise physiologist, 5 documented support groups, information session, sleep study, psychological evaluation and I was approved two weeks after my initial doctor appointment. As far as showing failed attempts of weight loss programs, all I had to do was write them down. I hope all works out for you. I've been on a 20 year diet it seems and my weight loss surgery journey has taken me 4.5 months. Good luck to anyone who reads this!!!

    What does pre-op consist of?

Wow, ok..so, I guess I'll take my meds with me. I met with a pharmacist already to develop a liquid concoction of all my current meds for after surgery. Thanks to you all and good luck for your surgery and/or post-op losing! !
  21. My surgery is January 16th and my pre-op is December 20th. Just curious to know what I'm in for. I remember them saying i'll see the anesthesiologist but not sure what else.
  22. Walter Reed in Bethesda. My husband is active duty navy so I'm blessed with Tricare covering it 100%.
  23. I am indeed. The fear of the unknown!! I'm all stocked up though on my vitamins and pre-op clear liquid diet food. I have a 2 week clear liquid diet prior to my January 16th gastric bypass surgery. What about you?
