I have this all the time, and want to talk embrassing I'm in customer service so I'm on the phone all day. It is really bad right after lunch. Since you can't tell that is coming there is no way to stop it try to hide. By now all of customers know that I have the lap band so they think nothing of it, But sometimes I get new people and have to do some quick thinking.

Suicidal thoughts with obesity?
firemanschic replied to princess_n_thep's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I would have to say that I have thought about several times before I lost weight, I finally got the courage to tell my husband and family about it Thanksgiving day. A month before my surgery my husband was at Fort Stewart Ga for a month and school was just starting back from the summer, and I had been out of work for a couple of months and it was all that I could think about. One day while my daughter was as school I got the calendar down and looked over it and chose the day and how I was going to do. After that I put it back up and went on with things as of nothing was happening, 2 weeks for my BIG day I got a phone call from DR Pounce office here in GA and it changed my life for ever my first thought was it was a cruel joke and someone had found out what I was planning and was trying to hurt me. After talking to the nurse for a few miutes I realized she was really serious and that was the day that my life changed for ever. I feel now that I have my own little angel that was looking after me that day. When I told my husband and family they could not believe what I was saying. My husband sat there with tears in his eyes, he said that he had not realized how bad off I was. I wonder how everone missed it. I felt like I had a huge sign on my chest that everyone could see, So my answear would be "YES" I thought about it. -
I stay tired and woreout all the time, I take the centrum vitamins everyday like I'm supposed to but they are not helping. No matter how much sleep I stay tired. Can anyone help me and tell me what to do if you have experienced this? It has gotten worse since the weather has changed. Also has anyone every experienced tightness with your band when your nerves are messed up? If so what do to lossen it up so that you can eat?

I've also hit another pleateau, I had to have surgery to remove endometriosis, so I had to go on a medicine called Lupron which they give to cancer patients, there are so many side effects and one of them is weight gain. I have not gained any in the last couple of months, but I'm not losing any either. I can't handle another adjustment right now because I'm tight as it is. I feel like i'm fighting a losing battle here. I thought about stopping the medicine but then the endometriosis will come back I that has to be one of the most painful things that I've gone through. I could a feel but than not be able to eat. So what do I do?

I have been over weight since I was about 12 years old, that's when I learned to comfort myself with food. Now that I have had the surgery I'm seeing the same thing in my 10 daughter and I'm not sure how to stop it or get a handle on it. She weights 138 pounds, which is what I have lost in the last 2 years. She is always asking for my help I've tried and she gets so upset with me that we don't talk for hours. I know the hell that I went through and I know she is getting the same reactions that I did and it's really upset setting because I want to help her so bad. Please someone help me tell me how to help her?

I had one this weekend, for years I have always wanted to be able to shop at stores like Gap, OLD NAVY,etc. This weekend I was able to buy a skirt at the GAP that I can fit into now. I opened the door of the dressing room to show my husband and I stood there crying a like a baby. I got the funniest looks by people walking by. I wanted to tell everyone in that store why I was crying. These little NSV's are great. My husband bless his heart he just hugs me and tells me to keep going and there will be more of the NSV's. I love him so much without him I don't think I could have gone this far.

Help! I Am Getting Cold Feet!
firemanschic replied to Oh 2 Be Free's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Be strong hang in there, I think we all had seconds thoughts on having the surgery, I know I did. But I have to say 132 pds lighter that it was the right choose. There were days that I would not get out of the bed, or even dress if I did. So please let the bad thoughts go and keep in mind that this will be one of the best things that you could ever do for yourself and your family. Goodluck -
On Thursday Sept 22, Dalton's Lapband Support Group is doing our 1st annual fashion show. They chose 35 people out of our group to be in the show and I was one of them. I will post pictures to let everyone see.

firemanschic replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
here are my before and now pictures, as recent as lastnight. -
I had a NSV lastnight. I live in Dalton, GA and the Dr's here that does the lapbands put on th 1St annual fashion show I was one of the models. I have to say I never thought that I would ever do something like that, I'm still on cloud nine. I had to go buy something to wear so I went Cato's and found a little black dress and was able to shop in the normal sizes clothes. So you can actually say that I had 2 NSV's

I would have to say Trace Adkins, This man is so fine, he make my mouth water just listening to him or seeing him on tv makes it worse.

My dr said that it was left over gas that they leave in your body. I felt that way for about 2 weeks, the more I moved the better I felt it helped the gas move. -
Delray Beach, FL, thinking about being banded
firemanschic replied to a topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I've been banded for alittle over to 2 years now, and I have to say that it's been the best thing that I could have ever done. I started gaining weight when I was raped at the age of 10, and at 15 my mom passed away so after that food was my frien and comfort and has been up until the day I had surgery. I have to say if I had it to do over again I would do again with a second thought. I recommend it to all off the people that I know who are over weight. -
I'm wearing white boyshorts undies with purple and pink stripes on them. After my surgery these and thongs are all I like to wear.

I also have a wider band that is still in clinical trials with epicon, I'm currently in a study that last for 3 years brfore they approve it, I'm 2 yrs and 1 month into the trial and from what I understand from my dr the only difference between the bands is the amount of fluid that it holds.
