Because of the spacing of my calcium, I never get them in and yet my calcium levels were good..whew!!

I have been taking an iron supplement daily, and not realizing my Bariatric Vit also had iron in it, as well as putting Kale in my protein smoothies for my eyes....I had labs done last Monday and all was good except my iron level was high, which can be fatal......Be sure to monitor yours. I did not even know there was a possibility

I hit my goal, 110 pounds, snazzy sz 12 and got over confident. I guess I stopped taking care of myself and also traveled a lot which made it harder. Now I have gained about 30 pounds. I am struggling to get back on track. I know my pouch still works cause I cannot eat much. I celebrated with too much wine and have cut that out. I am NOT happy wit myself....... I meant "With", not wit

I think you are probably right. I also have been on Hormone Replacement Therapy but I don't think that is the issue -
I didn't handle meat well for about 1 year or more.....it just kind of stuck and felt heavy. Do you like cottage cheese? That goes down good and is excellent protein. Are you taking all your necessary vitamins? Drinking your water???/

I am 23 months out and after three ten day vacations, and a ten day cruise, with holidays I have gained 15 lbs back. What do I do??
-
I know my pouch is still good because I still cannot eat much......Eating on a cruise with all the food in your face was hard. I still put Protein first but a couple of times just threw up because I was so miserable..I finally asked for smaller portions and that helped but I just have started putting in too many calories

I have lost 95 lbs. I cannot believe it some days. I look in my mirror and don't recognize who is looking back at me, and yet sometimes I go "There you are! I have missed you!" I have only 15 pounds to go..............yay me...

Question re" gastric bypass and nutrition absorption
shmily posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was at one year for gastric bypass on Feb 26, 2015. I have been very successul with 110 pound wt loss. My question is this. For over two years my eye doctor has been monitoring the pigment in my eyes that makes me at risk for macular degeneration. I have been consistantly low and have to take daily vitamins specifically for that. Before my bypass, the pigment increased by eating lots of green leafy veggies. I am curious since we cannot absorb vitamins but can absorb protein...if I make smoothies out of green leafy veggiess, can my body absorb the nutrients from that more than it can from just eating them??? -

Question re" gastric bypass and nutrition absorption
shmily replied to shmily's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor has released me and I had to pay for my nutritionist , who wasn't all that great...my doctor was awesome but he left this all up to the nut. I am only concerned because of the eye pigment and these eye vits cost me over 30.00 a month and they say the pigment could still be higher. Thanks for the info. That chart would be helpful -

Don't you want to slap someone when they say this regarding our WLS?? There is NOTHING easy about what we have done. Not only have we had our guts rearranged but eating, as we knew it for our entire life, has changed. We have made the ultimate sacrifice and will continue to do so for continued success. I have had people tell me this, and the others tell me they could never do what I have done because they are not ready to give up the old way of eating. We still have to count our calories, get exercise, make wise choices etc. I have a sister that I finally told about 7 months out. She has just lost 30 lbs, and commented to me that she "did it the old fashioned way". GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Precisely why I told so few people.
