I am going through the same thing!!! It makes me really happy to see I'm not alone. I lost 20 lbs in the first 2 weeks and then ever since I stopped liquids I've only lost about 2 or 3 lbs in the following 2 weeks. I've definitely heard that once I get a fill it gets better so I just have to hold on til mine on Sept 11

I'm only 18 and I just got my band last week I was just wondering if there was anyone around my age 18-25ish who has gotten the band and how the experience has been for them?

how long has it taken you guys to loose weight? I'm out 3.5 weeks and im down about 20 lbs but thats only about 12 lbs after surgery... I was loosing so much on the liquid diet and it slowed so much once I moved to mushies...9lbs on liquid and only 3 on mushies so far did anyone else have that problem?

I was banded August 6th so it's been about 3 and a half weeks and im down 20 lbs :-) not terribly impressive but I'm still proud and I can't wait to get my first fill!

yeah definitely, ive gotten the "young" thing too but my mom and i both decided it was best for me I am an active person, but I will admit ive had trouble just making sure I only eat what is needed and not going over that really... so this procedure was meant to help me just maintain a healthy lifestyle and be able to be more active i dunno some people still might not agree with me getting it, but i think for me it was a great choice personally

So I took the gauze off from my surgery yesterday and there is an obvious bump from where the port is.... I was thinking it was because althought i am very overweight i dont have that much fat around my ribs and thats where the doctor placed it ... also I know the doctor told me he had to place it higher because I was younger and haven't had kids or something like that... but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if it goes down some or anything?

I just found out about this site after I had been banded on monday! Before everything I weighed 280... pre op I got down to 271 and Right now only 3 days after surgery im down another 4 lbs and im at 267 This is really exciting! I'm healing fine, I can still feel myself recovering and not being as energetic as before surgery, but im slowly making my way back towards normal activity.

I had doctor fegalman who does surgery through the Jewish Hospital in kenwood, oh and its a few days later and im already down more to 262! 8 lbs in only a week :-)
