    December 2013 sleevers progress

Well, this topic was dead for a while. Down 130#, though I do fluctuate a little bit now. Eating well, and exercising often. Though I do have a addiction for peanut butter cups. Things could not be better
  2. I would think the bread would have been digested and been long gone by now. Could be gas, did you try some Gas X strips? Hope you feel better soon.

    Hardest thing for you?

I miss having a coke or a piece of candy every so often. Also, not drinking while eating drives me sometimes. Especially when I am downing some spicy Thai food. LOL

    Gallbladder?

Yes, call you Dr., get an ultrasound aned get the thing out before you get a bad attack. I had the exact same symptons as you and had to have mine removed. Surgery was a breeze for me. Hopefully it will be as easy for you if required. My only side effect is that I am a bit more gassy and have gotten some relfux since the surgery. Good Luck

    ice cream....big mistake

I am 4 months out and tried a little frozen yogurt this past weekend. My stomach handled it ok, but I did end up with a little reflux from it. And I did not eat alot, just several bites. Was delish!

    Out of the 200s!

    Congrats!
  7. I had my gall bladder removed this past Friday. Was having pain in the right side under my rib cage and also through my mid back. Now, I just have to deal with a little discomfort from the incisions and a tiny bit of pain in my shoulder from the gas used to expand the belly during the surgery, both of these being very common. My diet has been low fat since I was sleeved in Dec 2013, so I do not need to change it much. My system is still getting back to normal from the surgery (anesthesia) so I am not sure how I will react if I eat a high fat food in the next week or two. Guess I can only experiment and find out, but I am not running out to get a piece of fried chicken to just see what happens either.
  8. I use Chike banana and strawberry protien shake mix. I found it to be one of the few I could tolerate, especially the banana. I believe you can order the sample pack from their website chikenutrition.com. I also add PB2 to my shakes to add a touch of penut butter flavor and extra protien. http://www.gnc.com/PB2-Powdered-Peanut-Butter/product.jsp?productId=15329556. They also have a PB2 with chocolate added. Hope this helps. Good luck.

    Stalled and Terrified

Stalls are frustrating. Just remember they are common as most patients will go through several of them in the first 6 months. One thing I notice in my stall was that my body kept burning fat. I could see me waist getting smaller even though I was not losing weight. Sure enough after about 3 weeks, bam the weight started falling off again. I am currently in my second stall but working hard on kickstartingmy metabolism to start losing weight again. I would also suggest using my fitness pal to track your food and exercise as stated above. Good luck and don't give up.

    December 2013 sleevers progress

Hi. Was sleeved on Dec 5. I have lost 80 pounds since the surgery. I have just started to taper off with the wieght loss as I have stalled for a couple of weeks. I quit taking my blood pressure medicine last week as I was getting alot of head rushes and dizzy spells. Checking my bp daily to make sure it is in the normal range (120/80). I have gone from a 46/48 waist to a 38/40. I have been very fortuante in my recovery as I have had no complications with the surgery or with any foods I have tried to eat. The only negative is that my gall bladder is acting up and will be removed next Friday. All it wanted to do was to make some stones. Poor little guy. LOL

    pain in right side

It depends on the location of the pain on the right side. If it right under your rib cage it could be your gall bladder. I was having slight pain on my right side, under my rib cage. Had ulltrasound yesterday which confirmed the presence of gall stones. Will be removed next Friday. Common side effect of the rapid weight loss from the sleeve surgery. Other symptons of gall stones are indigestion, back pain, nasea and a few more. Google it and see if it is similiar to your experience.
  13. First, I am sorry to see you are strugglin. But know, it will get better. If your Dr. allows it you can try GasX strips to help with the gas. They worked wonders for me right after my surgery. As for the pain, you can only do what your body allows you to do. Just sip on your fluids, walk when you can, even if for just a few seconds. And don't give up. We have all been in your situiation or close to it and we are still kicking and shedding pounds.

    Strange tailbone question

My tailbone just started to hurt at times also. This must be what it is like to have a skinny but. LOL

    advice please!

I have read/heard that after a year or two it is not abnormal for people to gain a small percentage of the weight back. However, I think if you lose your focus and return to the "old ways", you will of course gain back more than most.

Keep up the good work and congrats.

    Gatorade?

I drink powerade zero, vitamin water zero and propel zero. I think your Nut is a nut! Find something you like and get your fluids.
  18. I lost 15# in the two weeks after my surgery. Then I stalled. Well now I have lost another 30# in the last month. Everyone is different. Follow the program and it will eventually fall off.
  19. I am at 5 weeks out and am finding it easier to eat more, even dense protiens. But, my body still lets me know when I am at the tipping point. I also track my food intake daily to ame sure of my calories, protiens carbs etc. Just make sure you are getting your protiens, fluids and cut back on those carbs. I have two family members who are 2&3 years post op gastrik sleeve and they said that they eventually could eat a little bit more and more as time went on. Also, they both have problems with diffferent types of food. One can eat a slice or two of pizze with no problem, but can't eat a bite of pasta. The other can eat some pasta and rice, but cant eat regular flour tortillas. It all varies by person.

    Feeling Hunger?

I was sleeved on Dec 5 and I have more hunger than I thought I would. But it is easily satisfied with fluids or a small intake of the foods I am allowed to eat right now. I also know that my cravings are factoring into my feeling of huner, but that to will go away in time. Or at least I hope it does.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hello everyone! I was sleeved on Dec. 5th. Surgery went well though I did have more gas and cramping than most after my surgery. I am at home now, on my liquid diet, and doing quite well. Getting food cravings from time to time, but I have been able to handle them so far. Really ready to move onto soft food for just a little bit more flavor on the pallet. Good luck to everyone and I will check in as I progress.
