Not happy with pre op diet

Once your clothes are loose and baggy all of this will be a memory. The pre-op diet sucks but remember you're about to have a complete life change. This is just training your body for the rest of your life. Good luck you can do it.
  2. Trouble with hunger. I am getting hungrier between meals. When it's time for dinner, my inner fat girl comes out, and I'm not taking my time. I've gotten stuck 3-4 times in the past week. I know the problem but what's the solution? Had my 2nd fill this week and I'm at 5cc's. How do I stay full between meals? All suggestions are welcome.

I think you already know, you have to slow down. Could you try having a cup of something to drink, hot or cold, maybe 1/2 hr before you eat? Good luck!

You hit the nail on the head. Seems as though my pre-surgery habits have disappeared. Slowing down is my biggest obstacle again. I will definitely try drinking something before meals.

      Thank for the advice.

    Time Length of First Fill

I was surprised to find out my band was installed 3cc's filled. My first post op appointment the nurse checked the band, extracted 3 cc's from the band and replaced with 4 clean cc's of fluid. My 2nd fill is scheduled for this Tuesday.

    Oh yes bruising is normal.

You'll forget about the pain when you're buying a new smaller pair of jeans I promise. Welcome to the beginning of a healthier life, my love!

No wonder I was so FAT!

The first week post-op was eye opener for me. Every other commercial is a food or restaurant and showing portions that could feed a small army. Glad to see you have journeyed to the small side!

    protein shakes

I got a HUGE tub of protein powder from Vitamin shop. It smells and taste like cake batter. No it's not Body by V. They are very proud of that product and it doesn't contain enough protein.

    Question about gas.

Preach on Leepers! I thought I was the only one not burping but blowing the butt trumpet! Unfortunately my husband and three boys try to match me toot for toot since I burp like a newborn now.

    First Fill?

3 weeks after surgery I got my first fill. They only added 1 cc. Next fill is a week from tomorrow.

Is your weight loss surgeon morbidly obese?

It's ironic to say the least. Like the hairdresser who needs a good haircut or the manicurist that needs a mani/pedi in the worst way.

    NSV: Size 1...in tights.

    Great problem to have!
  16. If you're getting the Lap-Band as a get skinny quick, you may want re-think having the surgery. There are so many life changes that you have to be prepared to make. Lap-Band doesn't give you permission to eat deep fried Twinkies just in a smaller portions. Eating better, slowing down at meal times, chewing food properly etc. These are all things your surgeon should tell you about pre-surgery if not red flags should go up. Do your research! A prepared patient is 200% better than an ignorant one.
  17. Just follow what your doctors instructions. Sounds like you are on your way to a healthier you.
  18. Found an App that reminds me to drink my water. Next to my band, I think it's my new favorite thing.

    Close Call !

That is the worst feeling. Glad to hear you got it worked out. That is one of the gnarliest feeling I've ever felt. Recently I forget to eat lunch (it happens to all of us with busy lives), got home and started to eat dinner entirely too fast. It took 2 bites before my body went into "Def Con 4" mode. The meal was so for me at that point.

Are you happier now that you are thinner?

Since I've lost some weight I am happier knowing I'm on the road getting healthy.
  21. You are such an inspiration. Thank you for reminding me that it doesn't happen overnight, I still have to work for it. If I put in the work I will get the results.
  22. Had my first fill a week ago and I feel no difference, thoughts?

Should I ask for another fill this week?

  23. I returned to work on Monday and I feel stronger and stronger everyday. If I can survive Thanksgiving on a pre-op diet and Christmas brunches/luncheons from vendors, I can survive anything. There is so much temptation around the office year end but I like feeling healthy.
  24. I can't tell you how long your pain will last. All I can say is walk and flap your arms. You might look like you're doing the chicken dance but it moves the gas. If you have a recliner, it's going to be your best friend when it comes to sleep. Just remember to sip your Protein shake and when you feel full stop. The pain will pass and you'll forget about it when lose weight. Good luck!

    Discouraging words

That's your friend's opinion and my husband has always said opinions are like ***holes, everyone has one. You made the decision without her and you will succeed without her. You are going to do fantastic. Go do great things!
