While I have never been skinny, I tend to work out and I enjoy hiking and climbing so I am usually in good shape. Two years ago, I injured my knee and encountered a sinus problem that would change my life. I ended up getting my nose rebuilt and eventually got my tonsils out because they became a problem. After 20 months of nearly constant antibiotics and steroids, I gained 70 pounds. This aggrivates my knee and now it is difficult to exercise because my knee swells. Changing my diet has helped me become healthier on paper, but when I take some of these meds, I have to eat foods that protect my stomach from damage, so fatty foods are definitely on my meal plan when I have to take powerful meds. Now, I feel better in the sinus dept, but the weight is very slow coming off and I am having pain in my feet and hips in addition to the knees. My doctor recommended the gastric sleeve procedure and so I began looking for a place online where I could find information from people who have had the surgery. I am at the very beginning of my journey and I go to speak to a surgeon tomorrow to learn about the process and how it can benefit me. I just want to be able to play with my daughter and enjoy the mountains again.
