I am able to try skim or soy milk so I guess i will try it with my next shake

We have to conquer our head hunger if we are to be successful & it scares me. The smell of certain foods still make my mouth water, of course I know I'm not hungry, it's in my head. But it's not stopping me from wanting it. Being around foods is still going to be a battle, we will have to keep reminding ourselves it's not real hunger.

I have been aking my protein shakes with water, even though I am able to have skim milk now. Does anyone use milk for their shakes?. I'm allowed to have oatmeal tomorrow YIPPEE!

I hope to eventually get enough protein from foods. I do NOT want to take protein supplements forever, yuck. DEE deekajungumbo.blogspot.com

I don't plan on giving up my favorite foods, I plan on following a simple high protein low carb diet that will allow my favorites in very small portions.

protein drinks will be your best friend for quite awhile, don't buy too much. Some people say their taste buds change Afterwards. My friend used to be a chocoholic prior to surgery now she gets nauseous even smelling chocolate

first day I had my 80g of protein was day 5, I woke up so thirsty, I couldn't drink enough.

Like'em or not there's no way to survive the first month without the protein shakes/powders. Try harder to find one you can handle.

That's great. Don't do too much liquids preop, you will be on liquids for a long time after surgery.......it gets old very fast Only requirement my Doc gave me was clear liquids the day before, nothing after midnight. But I did do low carb the weeks leading up to surgery.
-
I'm 9 days post-op, started out taking 15 min walks, slowly increased each day. Now I'm able to take 30 minute walks 4x a day. It gets better each morning I wake up.

Where are the Mississippi Sleevers?

Hi everyone, I'm Dee, originally from Louisiana , living in Diamondhead now. I am one week post-op. I had my LapBand conversion to Sleeve. Was wondering when you were able to eat seafood, like crawfish or oysters? How much before your full. I'm still on full liquids still, but know I will really miss seafood -
. I almost backed out, I think it is natural to second guess, but this journey started over a year ago for me. We should be scared, this is Major surgery. I'm doing everything exactly as instructed. No deviations, no experimenting. Good Luck!

Take care. Walk,walk,walk,sip,sip,sip

I never experienced any pain with sipping clear fluid so far. I have to keep reminding myself no more than 4-6 oz/hour, I could clearly drink more, but I'm adhering to Doctors rules without deviation. I had cup of herbal tea last two mornings, it felt so good to have. I started walking around my street several times a day. Started off small, slightly increasing length each day. Today I felt really good during my two walks.
