Kay I'm so sorry your back in the hospital, I loved my hospital & staff & I think there is some comfort when we know we're being taken care of. Keep walking! Hubby was my nurse, although he tried, he's not a substitute for a real health professional.

1. Yes I sleep on my side, that first week I slept with a really soft pillow against my belly. 2. Liquids hurt because your sore, I found the warm soup better in mornings that first week. 3. Yes it's gas 4. I think it will be an ongoing problem as we Reintroduce foods to our stomach, but my gas from operation took about 9 days. 5. I never had the burping Hope this helps! We're all in this together

When I was first lap banded in 2009, I was a scale hoe, sometimes weighing several times a day. It took me along time how it played with my emotions, if I gained I was it his deep depression. It wasn't healthy. One day I just said, no more! I weigh myself once a week, that's it. I log it in MFP app, move on. I have many friends in blogger who only got rid of their scale & only weigh at their doctors office. Now I weigh myself on Friday mornings then I put the scale in trunk of my Hubby's car so I won't be tempted (sad I know). My point is if you don't want to get on scale, don't, wait for your post op appt & go from there.

That first week was hell but you already know it cause your there. I had a 6 oz glass I alternated between water & Isopure for protein. I tried to finish a glass every hour (sometimes I just couldn't) I also walked around my backyard every hour. That's all you can do get your liquids in & walk.

I miss grits but my surgeon says no grits till 4 months because they lodge in staples, be careful!

It's very tricky for me right now, this week I'm to add soft cooked veggies which has no protein so I still have do shakes. I just try 1/4 cup of whatever I'm adding to see how my tummy reacts, that's it, I'm not trying to make meals of them because I don't want the calories.

Janey my Doc said 800 is limit got now, but every doc is different

Ebert, I was sleeved on the March20 & had dry mouth first 2 weeks. It's good to be thirsty I guess to keep us drinking. I also had a meltdown that first week, cried, just knew I'd made a mistake. As far as staying longer in a Hospital, I think that May have been comforting to me, I was so scared of a leak while @ home. Welcome to the losers side!

I don't think light jogging will hurt, long as your keeping your protein high. Remember people who have not had WLS are not going to understand this new lifestyle.

I try to eat as normally as possible. Breakfast, lunch, dinner & 2 snacks. My doc said not to graze all day trying to get food in. I eat what I can, if I'm unable to eat I skip the meal & do protein. I get 60-80g of protein everyday & log my foods with my fitnesspal app. I also exercise everyday. I'm determined, this surgery WILL work for me. No stalls yet. Also my doc & my NUT both told me the purpose of reintroducing foods right now is to gauge our bodies reactions to those foods. We can't eat enough to get nutrition from it yet. For now, our protein & vitamin supplements are our nutrients.

Where are the Mississippi Sleevers?

I'm walking around my neighborhood 3x a day. Protein hasn't been to hard, I really like the punch flavored Isopure, when it's really cold I think it's similar to punch Gatorade. I can't really eat proteins yet. I do protein fortified oatmeal for breakfast. DEE deekajungumbo.blogspot.com -

You look great. My biggest fear is a leak, I have been following my doctors food schedule exactly & waiting 6 weeks to do gym, I'm really freaked out about leaks lol -

Please do something for me! I know as we get further in our recoveries, we will post here less & less. Would you please follow me on my blog, email or fb? I don't want to lose touch with my newfound friends & fellow March Sleevers! I started my blog when I got the LapBand, I have had weekly posts & weigh-ins since 2009. There are so many others on our path who share their advice & experiences with me. Do you have a support system in place? I would love to stay buddies!! I agree with Janey, the first week is hell. I have had hysterectomy & gallbladder surgery neither came even close. I took the nausea meds every morning, even when I wasn't feeling it, I never wanted to get sick.

I am day 15. I have been able to tolerate all foods added to my diet so far. I use baby spoons& I don't push it to the "full" feeling. If it's a new food I eat it alone the first time then wait to see if there are any affects. I am proceeding VERY slowly & cautiously. I don't think it's necessary to eat until the full feeling, right now it's about introducing foods back into our bodies. I am going to show my age here....Oprah once lost a ton of weight on optifast, I was reading about it yesterday. Since optifast is basically protein shakes, it's similar to us right now. She said what she didn't realize was that her metabolism was shot so when she began eating regular foods she immediately gained her weight back. Her body didn't know how to breakdown the foods. Another reason We need to go slowly adding foods back in, give our metabolisms time to come back. We don't want to regain what we have lost

Added oatmeal & potatoes today, so far so good!
