Am felling great, very little pain, with the exception of my port removal area. It still looks like it's there, NP says its bood that will eventually disappear. I must say the pain & discomfort of my port area is the worst of it. The good news is I no longer have pain in middle of my ribs from the band, it was unfilled for the last year but still hurt. Dee

How is your Port area post surgery?.
KajunGumbo replied to KajunGumbo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my 6 week post op with my surgeon yesterday & I asked many questions about my port area. He said the port is fairly big, hence the larger incision. In my case he used the same incision to remove my stomach since it was large enough. He also said while the body fluids etc that fills in the area after port is removed will eventually disappear....we get scar tissue & may feel occasional pulling from the scar tissue as time passes. -
I'm 6 wks out now & absolutely thrilled with my progress. Absolutely no food issues & now on full diet. I walk a 5k each day and do gym 3x a day. I feel it's time for me to move on with my life now. Good luck to all the March Sleevers! I only have time for my blog postings but I will check in here every 3 or 4 months if I have time. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL ON YOUR JOURNEYS! I don't know what to say except that every journey will be different. Also, liquids are very important to losing, keeping trying to get your liquids in. This is YOUR journey.

im 6 wks post op now & that port incision is the last to heal, it still have a bit of scabbing. I would be absolutely pain free were it not for the occasional pulling/tugging in my port area. -
I started my blog 5 years ago when I had LapBand surgery, it was & continues to be a great support system for me . When I need inspiration to keep going it helps to review where my road has taken me. You will be glad you did it?

Anyone attend support group meetings held by you Bariatric Surgeon office? Mine is held the first Tuesday of every month. I went but I don't know if I'll be returning. First it's kind of far from my house about 40 minutes, second it's held at 6 PM. I loved hearing the success stories of veterans Sleevers, but I get that here on fb. Question and answers session was nice since the answers were relevant to my surgeon and his recommendations.

I'm one month post op now, this morning I woke up feeling "lighter", I stepped on the scale & sure enough, I am down almost 2 more lbs. http://deekajungumbo.blogspot.com/2014/04/one-month-post-op.html

I struggle with sweets also, the last year before sleeved, I gave up soda, white carbs & fried foods still no weightloss. It's amazing the weight I have lost even the first four weeks.
-
I upped my protein closer to 80 & started really logging my liquids to be sure I got my 64oz, I'm not sure if this is the reason but my scaled moved

Do you think it gets more difficult because your hunger returns or you can now eat more food?

Thanks
