Try isopure protein drinks from gnc. You get your liquids and protein at the same time. -

It is acid!!! You should be on Nexium or Prevacid. It feels just like hunger. A growling, gnawing feeling. -

Sorry. I certainly didn't mean to offend. Whatever works for you. I know there are plenty of people who go to Mexico and do it alone. -

They should be able to give you something for nausea. Call them. You need to be able to take your pain meds and drink to prevent hydration problems. Try some pedialite to help get you back on track. -
Greek yogurt, tossed salad with little or no dressing (I used pureeed strawberries), a boiled egg, a few bites of fruit, peanut butter on a spoon..... not on bread.

5 days and Im freaking out
fotogrphr replied to Zoumommy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I barely got a glimpse of the OR. I was out within seconds of being rolled in. Woke up asking for my hubby and they had him there in minutes. No problems at all. -
Welcome to the forum. I had my surgery on 1/20 and am doing great. I was very nervous but it all was easy and the pain was well controlled. I spent a lot of time worrying for nothing. Now I am on the " losers bench " with only good things ahead. Good luck to you!

Oh no!! I am so sorry you are both having trouble. Hang in there! It will get better in time. You are both in my prayers!

My doc just released me to advance my pureed as I want toward regular food. Said I should be on a normal healthy diet by V-day!!! Said he was very happy with my progress! Yay!! ♥

Sleeved in Roanoke, VA. No drain, one night and home by noon the next day. Thought I was going to need Hermia repair, but he said it had healed and he didn't have to do it. He did a leak test and cleaned me out good during surgery. No problems. He also did not use a Foley on me. He said Foley's and drains are breeding ground for bacteria. If you don't have to have it, why take a chance. I have done great.

A week and half post-op. Go to see my surgeon in the morning. I've done really well other than some constipation issues. I am getting my protien in every day in 2 shakes, but can't hold much more than that. I am on the soft diet stage 2 since Sunday, but can't get much down. No pain, just not much room. A couple of bites is all. If I weren't drinking my protein I'd never get it in. I guess I will end up going through the stages like most sleevers.

How Do You Beat the Cold?
fotogrphr replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Just got sleeved a little over a week ago. I've always been hot natured wearing shorts and tank tops around the house REGARDLESS of the season. Since surgery, I am wearing Spanx under my jeans and tops and have fuzzy throws on every piece of furniture in case I sit down there. Outdoors I broke out my fleece liined suede coat with hood and matching ugg boots. They were a gift several years ago that I was never able to wear because they were too hot. I don't dare go out without them, now. Even on warm days I have been pretty bundled up. It's been a weather roller coaster here in SW VA. -

Anyone taking Sucralfate?
fotogrphr replied to FitnFabfor2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc prescribed Nexium soluable for the same reason. I also took Prevacid the first week as a booster. It works well and helps prevent the knawing pain that resembles hunger. -
I was up 1.5 lbs. because of not having a bm. Drinking protein can cause it as well as taking calcium. Try some Miralax and Glycerin suppositories. It is amazing how full your colon becomes in a week even on liquids. I am feeling MUCH better.

Surgery was one week ago today! I am now starting soft foods and doing great! I gained about 8lbs from iv fluids in the hospital, but it was back off in 2 days. After that I started dropping about 3 lbs per day!! -
How fantastic!! I hope to follow your footsteps! 1 week post surgery. HW 325; SW 288; CW 269.

If you are not ready to share WHY, just share WHAT. " I had stomach surgery and don't eat much anymore". If you aren't comfortable saying it's wls don't. If he asks just tell him you don't want that conversation to be how you remember your first date. Maybe another time. Let's get real. We live in a food driven society. That's how we all got here. Just control the situation and keep it in YOUR comfort zone. Eat your normal routine and keep conversation flowing on other topics. The more normal you make it, the easier he will accept it as normal.

Pre op diet protein shakes... Help?!
fotogrphr replied to irockedthe80s's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try using vanilla shake and adding some sf jello in your favorite flavor. It thickens the shake and gives it a nice fruity flavor. I buy the small boxes of jello and add about a half pack to a 12oz shake. Want it thicker?? Refrigerate the shake for an hour or so before drinking. I like orange to make "dreamsicle" flavor. -
I'm not a huge fan of goat cheese. Any good substitutes?
-
My doc put me on Nexium and Prevacid, both. I haven't been hungry at all. I started soft foods today and two or three bites and I feel like it's Thanksgiving!!
