I am a 59 year old photographer and competitive surfer who has been
dignosed with Achalasia. I have been surfing since the mid 1960s
(surfing is my religion)! I am scheduled for a Heller Myotomy at the
Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida on Dec 13th. I was
diagnosed with Achalasia October 30th, 2013. I actually almost bleed
out and died when the laparoscopic tool scraped with the Mallery-Weiss
tear in my esophagus As for weight issues, I'd like to gain back at least
twenty plus pounds of the thirty pounds that I lost if the operation is
successful. If it is successful, the quality of life will improve very much!
