  1. You look like you are doing amazing!!!!! I don't have much hunger either. Usually I just get head hungry. I'm still working on my food relationship. Enjoy that new relationship, it'll help you get through the harder parts. Again, Congrats!
  2. I wish I could do this, I still find it hard/impossible to find my size at thrift stores. I'm just gonna be wearing baggy, frumpy clothing until I am out of the plus size range. Another option other than thrift stores is places like Ross, or Michaels. There stuff is cheap enough that you can buy a dress, or even a pair of pants every so many months and it's not a big budget breaker. Also, I am gonna be ALL about the sundresses once I get to a point where my pants are too big, but I don't want to buy new plus sized pants.
  3. 3lbs away from my first goal! I want to have lost 50 lbs by my 2 month surgiversary. I have 1 week to lose 3 lbs... I KNOW I'm gonna do it!!!!!

      Congrats!! Keep it up!

  4. I found that using the straw lets me take in more Water (my biggest problem post op has been no enough water) I have yet to have an adverse reaction. Everyone is different though, and as far as harm to your sleeve, some surgeons have no issues with straws, so I doubt it will hurt you. Best of luck!!!

    Finally realizing after 85lbs!

YAY! Dress pants are made to make people feel fatter, I swear!! Congrats, and 85 is def a lot, you should be very proud!

    Shopping in my own closet

I have a bag of clothes from highschool (When I was a solid 18), last time I checked they were still a little tight (I have been spoiled with stretchy jeans) I'm hoping this is the weekend I get my favorite sundress back and 2 pairs of jeans. Right now I'm wearing like a 18/20-20 so we'll see what happens. Congrats on fitting into that dress (and it being big!) I know that must have felt great!
  8. I was there last week and it was horrible!! I ended up having one very bad day, but I'm back on the wagon now and not having an issue (especially since that wicked witch Aunt Flow has left!!!!!!) I usually allow myself a "cheat" meal anyway once a week, as does my boyfriend who has had extrememly successful weightloss. Yes, keep it under control, No don't make yourself feel bad. No one is perfect and to expect perfection will just lead us all down that path of failure all over again. Congrats on your weightloss!!!!
  9. NSV of the day, there is a gap between my boot and my leg!!! This is a first since buying them last summer/begining of fall!!!!

I just noticed the same thing! I never thought my calves were big, but now I realize why I needed a wider shaft on my boots. Dare I say my legs are skinny?

My legs are the skinniest part of my body, but my calves were still too big for boots. Now I just can't wait for my Uggs to have a gap, or at least not be as tight. The boots today go up to my knee.

      Thanks RJ, it's is wonderful!

  10. Would eating grapefrui9t at this stage hurt me? Any vets that could give me some insite, I would appreciate it. I have emailed my NUT as well, I am just trying to get as much wisdom as possible. Thanks guys!!!
  11. I WANT WHITE CASTLE SO BAD. I am a NJ transplant to FL, so all I have is Krystals and the frozen White Castle, which is not the same. Good for you! I had 1 Krystal, whith most of the bun and a few fries for my cheat meal a week ago. It made me happy, and even happier to know, I could eat just one and be ok.

    Irregular period

I had to stop my birthcontrol before my surgery so I got my period from that, then again a week later for my actual cycle and this month my period started earlier and has been heavier than normal with my bcp. Fun times!!!
  13. Try drinking through a straw, and maybe ice chips (if you enjoy eating them) Also, for me adding crystal light to water helps cut the texture thickness. Just keep trying everyday to push yourself a little more. Don't give up!!! Best of Luck to you.

    Drinking?

My surgeon requires no booze for a year due to the risk of addiction transfer. Also the extra calories and carbs.
  15. I need to invest in one of those, me and the boyfriend are planning disney vacays, and I do NOT want to pass out in the middle of a theme park.
  16. Bobbi, where in NJ are you? I used to live in Bloomingdale and grew up in Clifton (Passaic County)
  17. Thats how I felt too. It wasn't strickly forbidden, but def not encouraged. I just can't do the sipping. Ice water through a straw is the only way I can really tolerate water.
  18. I'm in month 2, but I just couldn't take it anymore. I was starting to get pretty legit syncopel episodes when I would stand, no passing out, but almost and often. Until I see conclusive proof it is bad for me and damaging, I'm doing it. The effects and dangers of dehydration are too factual and too grave for me to care about some extra gas, which if I let the Water pool in my mouth first is few and far between.
  19. The first 2 weeks, I weighed every day. Then I hit my first "stall" (it wasn't really a stall or a plateu, it was my body adjusting from surgery) and I decieded that I and my boyfriend who lives with me would be much happier if I changed to weighing in once per week, on the weekly anniversary of my surgery. I notice a much bigger change that way. Once a week I see a 4 or so lbs loss, instead of 1 or so punds every other day. I would be so crushed on the days I lost nothing. It keeps me from obsessing, and that is good. So far I have kept a good perspective and have been able to notice the weight/fat loss. I hope to keep it that way since I am only 6 weeks into this journey. Whatever you decied works for you, just stick to it and love it! Break a leg on your journey!!
  20. I haven't had an issue with my bras, yet. I would say go for Sports bras. They're cheap, and comfy. If you're worried about support, I double mine up and it helps a lot!!!

    Any opinions about Paraguard?

I have one other Quest (Sorry to the OP for hijacking your thread) When people talk about over eating or abusing, are they talking about people trying to eat like they did pre op, or are we talking about that 1 or 2 bites too many as you're (as I'm) getting used to this new tummy??

    Any opinions about Paraguard?

Thanks for the input ladies! I am not too worried about the heavy periods, I'm tired of crazy hormones, and since I'll be losing the weight I anticipate my PCOS going away so it'll be nice to just have some semblance of normal. I'm just excited to not have to take a pill everyday. My only real concern at this point is pain during and after insretion and intercourse since I have never had a baby. We shall see, I'll give an update. I should be getting it sometime next week.

    Question ladies!

There are SO many hormonal changes happening right now, I doubt anything is wrong. I agree that calling is best though! Hope you're feeling better soon, and hey if nothings wrong, just think of it as a little break from mother nature, if I could go through this with no periods I would be in HEAVEN!

    Eating too fast

So, generally I agree about not being able to stretch the sleeve too much, but is the no straw rule about stretching or becoming uncomfortable with gas?? Just wondering b/c there are a few things that just go down better via straw. (Not Soda, just thinking about it make my sleeve bloat with gas)

Also find the surgeon that you feel is talking to you honestly. My first seminar was with a surgeon reccomended by my future mother in law, He was very qualified but it felt like he was being paid by the lap band to promote it. When I found my surgeon she told you all the good and all the bad of all three procedures (band, sleeve and RNY) and I really felt like she cared about what was best for her individual patients.
