I know I really need to refocus on the things that are healthy ....I really am trying to educate myself on vegan lifestyle ...vegetarian living.... finding healthy ways to prepare you know seafood and fish and chicken and turkey .....I love all of those things.... but sometimes I still miss some of the old stuff too .....so you're right it's not worth it ....I'm in my honeymoon .....I'm just now starting to feel better so I absolutely don't want to blow it .... I have been watching healthy cooking shows and i am looking forward to healthy meals, with some indulgences....a great deal of things i can eat on this diet, i already love....seafood, meats, veggies...and i am totally ok eating them in a healthy manner.... But i do miss artichoke, olives, pickled veggies and all my snack foods....Lord don't let me ever put a cashew in my mouth....it will be over! Shel

Yeah, i wasn't sure about olives either....they can be used in healthy recipes....just wasn't sure. My NUT said no beef whatsoever....wasn't sure if that was "forever" or not....i miss that too :-( Shel

Understood and agreed....but I also thought that at some point one could eat "normal" foods, but just less... Now that my tummy issues are better...im thinking about foods I like again.....:-( Shel

I Believe theres all very good questions ...I do understand the timeframes are different for every person ....particularly things that seem like they are soft and should be fairly easy ....there's a lot of tricky things with food and for example I would love to have olives.... Now I know olives are high in fat but you can also get them more healthy ....I haven't known anyone mention anything about olives.... I also like soybean pod and I've heard people saying they have to wait till they eat it... I was just curious about when other people started to be able to eat and tolerate some of these things without having problems but I agree with you everyone is different. Shel

I would chat with your NUT and your Dr...take it from someone who just spent three days in the hospital this week with dehydration and going without any nutrition for four days straight and not my doctor told me I was losing too much weight too fast by not eating...I would definitely talk to you to your medical team... I will get to finally meet directly with my surgeon to report on little Felipe.....Im not managing this situation very well, I don't think...so many times, i say "I wish I had known...." Oh well....I'm going to stay positive... I Feel much better with fluids! Shel

Hi Pat ....that burger sounds delicious ....in is tough especially agree with you eating fast food on the go .....busy life .....really hard not to eat and get work done ....we are in control of our body and I just really have to get my mind around how different my life is.... that's the hard part ....the head game ....thank you for understanding.... I am absolutely going to maintain that on the boss when it comes to trying to see my physician but now that I have spent the night in the ER my ER doctor wrote a request specifically stating that I meet with my surgeon so hopefully I won't have a problem thanks for your support I really appreciate not feeling so alone...:-) Shelby

I understand completely how you feel ....I have questioned my decision more and more .....I still think it was the right decision but I just have to learn how to manage it and accept the changes I can't control .....tonight I spent the night in the ER because I'm not getting enough fluids in....I know something is going to change for the better.... I have lost weight 39 pounds.... But I do question if it's worth it.... Shel

Hey Pat congratulations on feeling great.... I am on the omeprazole but not the other medication .....and told them that I need a stronger acid reducer but the nurse refuses to give me one.... I am really working to try to get over this hump .....a burger sound delicious ....how did it go down, any problems? Shel

people have to take personal responsibility for their actions and refusing to follow the rules means they clearly were not ready foe the full commitment required to make this journey... we all have food demons, but to do this you have to *want* to let them go. very sad. shel
