HELP! HELP! Not doing well with weight loss..
BabySheldon replied to JewelJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jewel, I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble ....it is always difficult to have a weight loss journey while attempting to care for someone else ....for a lot of people this journey is about getting healthy and putting ourselves first.. You unfortunately do not have that luxury if your husband is unwell ....it will make it more difficult to meet the nutrition goals that you have. One of the most important things in this journey is to have a strong support system ...try to find people that will help you help your husband so that you can focus on your self. ....If you went through the challenge and pain of going through surgery it is important that you stay committed to the in the goal...... I recognize that your husband is also a large priority but you will have to carve out time to prioritize your self. One of the best ways to start focusing on your weight-loss is to go back to square one with the foods that helped you start losing in the first place ....soft foods, lean Proteins, sugar-free Snacks.... If your lifestyle does not accommodate a great deal of exercise be sure to find ways to situate your husband so that you can do some exercise while remaining in your home.... this is going to be very important for your well-being as well as his well-being. My final word of advice is Water, water, water ....if you can meet your water goals you will recognize a big difference in your mobility and your ability to cope with caring for your husband and caring for yourself .....please continue to reach out to this group.... we are all finding ways to cope with various different situations at home. Although you may feel alone, know that you are not alone.... many wives or spouses or partners are primary caregivers for an unwell mate....know that we care about you we want to support you on your journey and most importantly we want you to succeed both with your weight loss and with your husband....take care. I gained 3lbs since Monday. WTF?
BabySheldon replied to DeniseNCC1701's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So frustrating Ladies.....one word of advice to Denise.....water, Water, water....if you are exercising and not getting the minimum of 64oz of water....the scale will be cruel...it seems strange but its 100% true that flushing your body with water will flush out the excess water from exercise and you will see the scale respond....I had to remind myself of this simple truth as well....its so hard when you are working out and don't see it on the scale...more water....is your best friend.....trust me.... Good Luck Ladies...we can do this! Shel -

BabySheldon replied to BabySheldon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I couldn't agree with everyone more.....thank you..... thank you....thank you....for the positive feedback ....it feels wonderful to be free of the crazy cravings, The constantly being hungry, the constant need to eat carbohydrates, the sluggishness, the being sleepy and being tired of feeling like you can't move. I noticed changes in my skin that it's a lot more soft and supple and my feet look 100% better....it's just such a better happier healthier more wonderful place to be and I congratulate everyone on this journey....we will all hopefully be free of this disease!!!! Shel....skipping along without her blood meter :-) -
Diabetes GONE! A1c is.........
BabySheldon replied to BabySheldon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hmmmm...my doctor told me I was diabetes free....my doctor specifically said it depends on how many beta cells a person has left....she congratulated me and put it in my chart that I was no longer diabetic. It sounds like your numbers have fluctuated and you are still diabetic. I am not diabetic and I am no longer required to have diabetic check ups or monitor my blood sugar....I'm done with that. ..I don't plan on going back to my old ways but it's true I will be consuming a little more food but not much....I don't want to eat a cup of food at each meal and I control what I choose to eat...I do exercise quite a bit as a lifestyle change and there was no mention of retesting or continuation monitoring..... The debate of a "cure" for diabetes has been around for a long time....but even the ADA agrees that if you are in a non-diabetic state then the progression of the disease ends for most type 2 patients. Good feedback, thanks for sharing your experience! Shel - no more type 2 -

Two Days of Naughty Behavior
BabySheldon replied to BabySheldon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, yes, yes....thank you for understanding!!!! I have never been to Charleston but I love the lay of the land and the beautiful scenery.....I also think men with South Carolinian accents are hot....but I digress...lol.....yes, we just have to stop, drop and roll after cheating, and get back on the wagon....you will be in Onderland in a matter of days...you will get there!!!!!!! Shel -
Now back to the basics......I was down -59lbs but now up 1lb....time to get back to the basics....two week of liquids....protein shakes....80oz of Water or more a day.....regular exercise and lots of Vitamins and shellfish..... A Great Life if you ask me.....this is my *****punishment**** for egregiously eating off course for two days.....chipotle chips and salsa on day one.....target store popcorn on day two....bad, bad, bad... Happy to hit the *reset* button with my tool, and keep it movin'. Before Felipe the Sleeve was born, I would cheat and look up and a month had gone by and I was still on my initial 'one day cheat.' Although I'm disappointed with myself, I have only gained a pound....of water, likely...and I can still fit my skinny jeans I'm now in....I think it makes it much easier to stop and get back on track....before the surgery....i had a hard time getting back on track....especially when I looked in the mirror and was still fat... Really starting to love and appreciate 'Felipe'.....most days anyway.....lol Happy losing to all my losers!!!!!!! Shelby

Premier Protien Bars
BabySheldon replied to BabySheldon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you very much for the information and the photo...... I am just now able to tolerate whey protein again.....for three months I haven't been able to tolerate milk protein....I was looking for something in a bar that might be easier to eat..... unfortunately my tiny tummy still does not like bars so I took about two bites of this bar and that was it .....I give the rest of my kiddos ...lol.... I will try the ones you are using and see if Felipe will tolerate them... Shel -
