Ok, so I bought the PB cookie Protein powder (syntrax) and I can't stand it. Any ideas to use it up other than mixing it with Water?

CrissyRing77 I would love the recipe. I did mix some with sf chocolate pudding mix and it was pretty good. -
November sleevers! 6 weeks out and feeling discouraged!
kyleebean replied to Alisa11/18's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 6 weeks out and have been to the gym every other day since week 2 or 3. I just walk on the treadmill or work on the elliptical. I feel like I can eat a good cup to a cup and a half of "soft foods" like yogurt, pudding, etc... but if I'm eating solid chicken or something like that, I can only eat about 2-3 ounces and 1/2 cup of veggies. I average about 700 calories, 70 gm of Protein per day and I get more than 64 ounces of Water in every day but it is a push. I'm down 46 pounds since surgery and couldn't expect more.... -
# of nights in hospital?
kyleebean replied to kimr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in 4 nights. I was a revision from band to sleeve and I had a lot of complications. the surgery itself took over 4 hours due to scar tissue (from the lap band and from a previous spleenectomy). After surgery I couldn't keep anything down because the swelling in my stomach and esophagus was so severe nothing was passing through. I also developed pneumonia and m y left lung collapsed. They also thought I had a blood clot (which I did not). So I had a lot of complications and still was only in 4 days. -
What NSV are you mist looking forward to?
kyleebean replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
here isn't one I'm particularly looking forward to. However, one happened over the weekend. I was shopping with my 23 year old daughter (who is a size 1 and I think maybe someone switched her with my real baby at birth or something) and I kept looking at size 3X tops and would try them on and she kept saying, "Mom you are drowning in those." She finally went and picked out some cute 2X tops and they fit beautifully. I guess I thought I was a 3X because I wasn't really fitting into the 3x's at Kohls before surgery so I thought they would fit now. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. -
I'm going back tomorrow. I was off 6 weeks and am very grateful I was able to take the time to adjust and concentrate on healing, eating appropriately, drinking and working out.

Save 30% on Quest bars at GNC. Today only
kyleebean replied to DirtyHarriett's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really want to try these but an skeptical because of what people have been saying about their nutritional value not being accurate. I'm not diabetic but do get dumping from excess sugar. Anyone have experience with Quest bars causing dumping? -

Can anyone recommend an accurate scale?

I have a digital weight watcher scale that I LOVE... -
Ok Ladies....... I am 6 weeks post op tomorrow and just started my first period since surgery and the scale shows I gained 3 pounds. While my brain tells me the gain is likely due to my period, I can't help but feel maybe it isn't. Anyone else experience this?

Hallen651, We both had our revision from Band to sleeve on the same day! I, too, ended up with a horrible UTI and yeast infection. It was from all the antibiotics post op. Would love to connect with you.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine what you must be feeling. Taking care of yourself needs to be a priority and I suspect you do not have the emotional energy to even do that. Do you have friends and family who are with you to encourage and support you? Are you getting any sleep? Obviously drinking and eating what you can is important, but I think resting your mind may be the best thing you can do. Touch base with your doctor about how you are feeling and if you need any medication for sleep and/or anxiety. The other thing that comes to mind is to make sure you have someone to talk to, whether that be a professional or friends or family. Again, I am so sorry for your enormous loss. Take care and peace to you.

I can't answer your question directly, but I can tell you this was one of the reasons I opted for the surgery. My partner and I were TTC since October 2012. Did 6 rounds of IUI with clomid, HCG injectable and progesterone suppositories...... We did get pregnant December 2012 but I miscarried in February of 2013. After THOUSANDS of dollars, millions of tears and a whole lot of heartache, we decided it was better for me to get the weight off first and then try to conceive (I just turned 40 so waiting is kinda scary).

Do you work for your weight loss or do the pounds just fall off?
kyleebean replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5 and a half weeks out and have worked my tukas off and I have lost a substantial amount of weight. I hope it continues, but I feel I have to be the one putting in the work, the sleeve only does part of it. -
I have to say that every Dr. is different. I was on pureed food from post op day 2.
-
I had this too. My dr. said it is from blood pressure dropping. I was on BP meds and had to have them decreased and will be discontinuing them this week,

How do you know if its dumping or a virus?
kyleebean replied to Skinny in Here's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have had "dumping" and I have the sleeve... Now It only happened once after eating something with 9 gm of sugar ( I had to servings of the item at one time). I learned my lesson with that! -
What are your daily numbers?
kyleebean replied to xmarycontraryx's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I thought this was a great thread because I had the same question. Almost 6 weeks out and average between 600-800 calories and hit 60 gm of Protein. Water intake is well over 64 ounces. BUT, I am still hungry a lot of the time. However, once I eat, I feel better. -
I can so relate. I had revision to sleeve on 11/27 and have been stalled for a week. Actually I lost two pounds but then they came back. I wonder if I'm eating too much because I DO get hungry. I see people say they are never hungry and I wish that was the case for me. For example, tonight I had 1/2 cup egg salad and a dannon greek light and fit yogurt. I probably could have eaten more but didn't.

I will be returning to work next Wednesday and I'm kinda freaking out about it. I have been fortunate to have a full 6 weeks to recover and that has allowed me to really focus on eating Protein, drinking enough fluids and go to the gym. I'm scared about losing momentum once I return to work. I work as a social worker in child welfare so my days are anything but predictable. I can't set a schedule to eat, drink and go to the gym. (I can drink plenty without a schedule). I'm nervous about what food to take with to work to ensure I'm prepared but It has to be something that doesn't have to be refrigerated all the time. As far as the Gym, I have no idea how to ensure I will go. Any advice?

Wednesday I will be five weeks out from my revision from lap band to sleeve and I have lost 42 pounds. I am beyond thrilled. My problem is I will be returning to work next week Wednesday and most of my work clothing is too big. While I am excited about this problem, I have conflicting feelings about having to fork out money for new clothes knowing I am so new into my journey and I will be changing sizes a lot. What do other people do to work a professional wardrobe while trying not to spend a small fortune?

OMG I had the same thing. Monistat 1 is EVIL.....I had such a bad reaction to that. I ended up calling and getting a script for Diflucan and Flagyl. In a couple of days it was gone. But man, in the meantime, I thought I was going to loose my mind.
