Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...

Hello all - I was sleeved Dec 5 and am down 17 pounds from pre op diet (I only did THAT for about 5 days - ugh!!!).... I spent 3 nights in hosp. And was sent home without any pain meds....I felt good with the exception of energy. I had NONE. I noticed liquids hurt....so I decided to mix them - I warm the liquid and add baby rice cereal (dry, in the box) and a bit of splenda. I make it SUPER SUPER soupy. I figured since the coffee in the hosp FELT good...why not? Let me tell ya when I ate....prolly 2 - 2 1/2 tablespoons of that....I felt AMAZING!! I am now "eating" stage 1 baby foods, (awesome!!) Such a variety...I never get bored

    In Need Of Support

I had my sleeve this past Thurs 12/5 Drinking clear liquids is NO FUN but I found (for me) that highly diluted baby rice cereal mixed w hot water n a tad of splenda - goes down so nicely. Everythinf inside you/me is swollen and tender from surgery....maybe its the warmth but it feels (and tastes) good...AND since I was si hungry with no energy... .the cereal made me feel like a new woman I hope you get to feelin better! Oh!! Hold off on vitamins for a few days...youll live fine without them that long....the vits make me NAUSEOUS!!!

    Date Set!

I just had my sleeve done this past Thursday (12/5/13)... I can say the first three days were rough and ONLY because of gas!! (Lol). Today is Tuesday though- and I had my last pain meds Sunday morning. I looked on youtube for advice and found someone who reccomended "Gas-X" the meltable strips....they work WONDERS. Hide em in your bag - if your Dr wont approve them....lol. I am waaaaay amazed at the difference in portion sizes... In the hospital my "drinking cup" was/is STILL a 30ml medication cup. Remember TINY SIPS. It will feel odd - but remember everything you put in your belly - you will be displacing gas, (which can be uncomfortable). Another thing I found, (for me - maybe for you?) Is that it was much more comfortable to "eat" baby cereal (watered waaay down) and/or stage 1 baby foods - instead of water. After I "ate" the first time.....my energy went THROUGH THE ROOF!!! Don't push yourself....these days will pass
