What were the symptoms? Did it hurt? Did you actually see a bulge? Do you think lots of jogging and a recent pregnancy could bring it on? Getting to the doc today to see what my problem is if I can but just wondering.

The man who wants to debate Gore is NOT a scientist. In fact, I challenge you to find any actual scientists who doubt global warning. These are very few and far between.

What's the treatment for this? Does anyone have any experience with treating this and losing more weight? Or does this signal that it's pretty much over for me and the band? I do know I have a dilated pouch and am in the process of contacting my surgeon to find out about it after having discovered it while trying to get a fill.

My insurance at the time didn't cover any weight loss surgery so I went self-pay.

Do you use the band as a dieting tool or a life style change?
Fauxnaif replied to StephC's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
In the beginning... I just used it to help me eat less. And I was able to lose weight. But getting closer to goal, I find I really have to count calories and be vigilant to lose anymore weight. -
Did you see the PBS documentary on Obesity tonight?

It's on again tonight! -
Eat, Drink and Be Healthy by Walter Willett Overcoming Overeating by Munter and Hirschmann

I'm much more critical of my body now than when I was so overweight. I think for me, it's the fact that I am so close to "normal" or whatever yet I am not there. So those 15 pounds or so are this huge deal to me and my stomach really annoys me. I understand how you feel.

I recommend this book as a supplement to what you are already doing. [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Overcoming-Overeating-Jane-R-Hirschmann/dp/0449003825]Amazon.com: Overcoming Overeating: Jane R. Hirschmann, Carol H. Munter: Books[/ame] And if your therapist doesn't specialize in eating disorders, I would try to find one that does. I know how hard this is. I still struggle with it after all this time.

i find im eating allot worse b4 my lap band
Fauxnaif replied to BigThunder's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh yeh. This is a mental thing. "Last Supper Syndrome." Lots of people do this. But remember you might be adding to the weight you will have to lose. Good luck with your surgery and everything. -
I think it probably doesn't even matter if you exercise as far as determining whether or not you will have loose skin. I think it has to do mostly with genetics and also with how long you were overweight. Of course, we should exercise for our health. But if I were you I would just assume that I will have loose skin. And save up for plastic surgery if it's not something you can live with.

Good job! I'm back up to 14s!

WOW. The original quote must have been written by someone who's never had a weight problem. It's just not that easy.

Whats a snappy response for are you going to have a tummy tuck now?

"Why? Are you offering to pay for it?" "Nah, I feel pretty damn good the way I am." -
Had your lap band 3 or more years?
Fauxnaif replied to leelee0501's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
5 years in July 2007 (had a healthy baby in 2004). Went from 320ish to 185 (BMI 47-26). Still losing sporadically-would like to lose 10-15 more pounds. Gained 20 or so back last year when I was in a very stressful job. Since then lost it and 20 more. I think I've had about 5 fills. I've been very fortunate to need little fill. No complications except that my pouch is stretched and we are trying to correct that with liquids for a month so we'll see. Hopefully it will be okay. I already feel more restriction. My own fault, still occasionally overeat (dealing with compulsive overeating is hell at times). BEWARE OF THIS! Absolutely no regrets. -
Do they save images of the stomach and band that are taken during the barium swallow? Is this something I could request as part of my medical records? A fill doc said I had a dilation and I'd like to send the pic to my surgeon who I can't see till late April. Thanks for the info.

Kida off topic, but this is the exact reason I didn't and never will see that movie. As a Christian since I was about 8, I GET that he sacrificed. But why so much gore???
-
Hmmm..pork barrel or many, many more deaths for God knows how long???? Oh yeh. Very hard choice.

Exactly what happened to me, too!

Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?
Fauxnaif replied to paladin's topic in Rants & Raves
Marry me!!! Thank you, thank you!!! -
Absolutely right. Neither of the Clintons are very liberal at all. Maybe a bit left of center but not enough for me!

I feel your pain. My mother's like that and so is my husband's. Tell your friends, coworkers, etc. Anyone else! You don't have to have her approval. Get your congratulations and "proud of you"s elsewhere. I learned to do that.

Got Children? Got Grand-Children? Read this!
Fauxnaif replied to Tired_Old_Man's topic in The Lounge
The chances of successfully quitting smoking are so low that I think these ads are really just trying to prevent people from starting. And if someone really keeps poisoning their body because they don't like a tv commercial, gosh these must be the dumbest people on the planet. These ads are great. Sometimes it takes something radical to get the attention of people-especially teens these days. -
Pregnant: can I refuse an un-fill?
Fauxnaif replied to jgandg's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Don't worry too much about your weight at this time. You're not the priority; it's your baby. Get the unfill. Congrats! Bandster babies rock! -
