joyrokk5 replied to HipsAndLipstick's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Looking good. We are about the same weight lose so far and time frame. I am finally able to notice the changes. I love putting on clothes that felt like they were cutting off my circulation and now have them feel loose. Woo hoo!!! -

I was sleeved January 22nd. It has been a pretty good month so far. I am down a total of 28 lbs all together. I have lost 13 since surgery. The past few days have been good. I did have a couple of weeks that didn't lose but gained. But this week I have lost 4 lbs so far. -

I am 3 weeks post op and was moved to regular food on day 8. They only time I got sick was the day after surgery. I have been concerned about my sleeve being to big. I have no problem at all drinking my 11 oz protein shake in like 10 minutes. Also I easily eat 4 oz of food 3 times a day. I do feel like I could eat more but I weigh my food out before I eat. I really thought that 4 oz was gonna be to much but not at all. I also gave no problem drinking at all. I almost wish that I had some restriction. I would know I was sleeved. -
2 weeks post op....... weight gain?
joyrokk5 replied to joyrokk5's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I only weigh myself once a week. I am hoping it's just a stall. A friend said it may be that I started regular food after just 7 days. Unlike a normal pre op diet that has stages. -
Well I am 2 weeks post op and gained 1.4 lbs!!!!! How is that possible? Things have been going great but when I stepped on the scale this morning I had gained weight. Of course I was disappointed and now all I wanna do is figure out what I was doing wrong. Could I already be hitting a stall? Some advice would be great!!

I am eating whatever I want. By that I mean healthy. I was on clears for one week and then moved to regular food. I had tune for lunch and chilli for dinner. My doctor feels you will know what you can handle. His feeling is "God gave you teeth for a reason." Today for Breakfast I had a slice of ham, for lunch I will finish the tune from yesterday and for dinner I will be having taco flavored chicken.

Today I am one week post op!!!! I feel great. I went back to work yesterday and that has been fine. My doctor released me to a full diet. Of course healthy diet but I don't have to do stages. Thank God!!! I really thought the recovery was gonna be so much harder. I know we all recover differently. I love being able to notice the changes already. When I would do a fad diet I never saw a change. I am so excited for this new life!!! HW 250.1 SW 234.8 CW 226.6

I was told not to worry about my protein. They pumped me with 2 huge bags of vitamins and protein while in the hospital. Someone mentioned in one post about a protein shot that has 42g in it. She would mix it with her crystal light. Maybe try that. Good luck and keep me posted on your journey!

Well today is day 4 post op. It seems that so far every other day is a good day. Yesterday I felt great but today I am nauseous and have some pain. I am dealing with it pretty good. I don't take my pain meds till its time for bed. I do think I may need some Tylenol today. I lost 15.2 lbs pre op and so far 5.1 since surgery. I have not been getting in the 64 oz of fluid but getting better every day. So far so good!!!

I'm sleeved!!! I was sleeved at 7:30 this morning and all went well. I was in pain right after but it wasn't as bad as I expected. I slept on & off till 3 pm. They gave me some Tylenol in my IV which was good enough. I started my clears at 6:15 which went well but now the vomiting has begun. Let me tell you that SUCKS!!!!!!! I am using muscles that I would rather not use at this moment lol. I can honestly say that so far it's not as bad as I was expecting.

Insurance change in April. Arghhh!
joyrokk5 replied to SCJCJ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This happened to me. Our insurance changes March 1st and the new insurance doesn't cover weight loss surgery. My current insurance required 6 months of nutrition so once that was complete my surgeon rushed things long. I am being sleeved in the morning. -
