I am definately a very happy bandster, 103 lbs in 7 1/2 months. 103 lbs healthier, and couldn not have done it without my band. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

The first 3 are my After pictures and the one with me and my son is my before picture. They do a great job at glamor shots and I promised my husband I would get my pictures done there when I lost 100 lbs, I am now down 103 Warning to anyone who gets their portraits done there, they cost more then a fortune. What a shock! I had to widdle my selections down from 7 pics I liked to 3 to make it affordable. At 7 pictures it was slightly more than $2500 OUCH but 3 ended up more reasonable. ali1.bmp ali3.bmp ali2.bmp

Thanks Everyone for your wonderful comments. You Guys keep up the great work too, I log on multiple times a day because without all of you and reading your threads I wouldn't be as encouraged to keep trying. -

I never drink with meals, when I do drink is is low or no calorie liquids. I never exercise (unless you count chasing and cleaning up after my 2 and 4 yr old boys exercise. (I never sit down unless I am eating or checking e-mail. Always on the go.) I eat my protein first and try to make it as close to 60 grams a day and allow myself only 1 snack a day. I don't count calories (I get to obsessed) I weigh myself once a day but only record my weight once a week. Down 101 and I still feel I need more restriction. I am a work in progress but if I can make it there ANYONE can make it there.

mm Taylor ham, nice and crispy (it's a NJ thing)

Daily, in the morning before I eat/drink and shower. Wet hair makes you weigh more

I have lost 2 ring sizes and have ring guards on my wedding and engagement rings (I still want to wear them) I am almost down 100 and plan on taking them all to the jewlers when I am down 125 to get them all resized. As for my shoe size when I got pregnant with my first son I wore a size 9 then when he was born I was up to a 10, then the second child came along and I was a HUGE size 11 now becuase of the weightloss I am back to a 10 and I hope I will get back into my 9's. I have saved all my good shoes in 9's and 10's but am happy to throw out the 11's

I am almost at 100 lost. As of this morning I am down 97. My secret is I listen to my band and stop when I sigh (my sign of fullness) I havent exercised yet but I do chase my 4 and 2 yr olds all day long. I am happy with my results so far as I only had my surgery 6 1/2 months ago.

Do you have the option to switch insurances? I changed about 6 months before my surgery to make sure I would have little or no problems getting it approved. And everything went smoothly as planned.

HI, I was at the meeting with you last Wednesday I have lost 97 since April 18th and I can eat more than nurse linda was talking about too. I have had 2 fills and feel satisfied after a "lean cuisine" sized meal.... could I eat more without getting sick ...probably, but I stop there and am doing well. We are all different, so who knows maybe some people need less but I do well with more...I think if I was only able to eat an egg sized amount I would never be able to get in all my protein. Even with tthose yucky tasting protein shakes I choke down once a day.

Hi ther April Bandsters, I was banded on April 18, 2005 and am currently down 94 pounds. Only six more to the goal I wanted to meet by new years. I think I can make it to 100 lost by then. I have gone from an avenue size 30/32 to a size 20 whoo - hoo! and have had 2 fills, and no idea of my fill level, I think I am around 1.8 in a 4 cc band. Anyway great to hear of everyone's success....keep loosing

No One wants to hire me!!! Weight?
Alexra replied to KRZYGIRLNSTL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If it is your weight there are no laws on the books in most states about discrimination due to weight. Unless you have your weight noted as a legimitate handicap then if they discriminate it is against the law. -
Glad to be of help. if you want to talk more about it give me a call.

I used Dr Abkin and I reccomend him 110% I had my surgery on April 18, 2005 everything went well, his followup care as well as his office staff are wonderful. I am down 90 lbs to date and have had 2 fills, the last one being last Thursday with Dr bertha his partner, he is awesome as well. If you are interested I'd be more than happy to talk to you about him in more detail over the phone, just private message me and I'll give you my #. There is a support group meeting the last Wednesday of the month held at his offices in Florham Park, come along.... everyone is welcome.. I too have 2 young children at the time of my surgery they were 3 1/2 and 1 1/2, it was a hard decision to make but I know I made the right one, I am a healthier mom because of it. Ali
