It's totally not fair. I wouldn't have minded so much but my expectations were so high. Oh well, we keep on keeping on don't we. LOL I find that upping my Protein and drinking lots and lots of Water really is the only thing that can make my weight change. I am only losing about two or three lbs a month but that's better than nothing at this point. But to get that I have to keep track of everything and think PROTEIN and WATER. -

Kmo, what do you eat? I eat loads of eggs cooked all different ways. I eat beef jerky but have to chew it really well of course. -

I am finally starting to see results. It's taken a lot of time but my pants are getting looser. I've now lost 25 lbs since Dec. 5, so four months out. Slow but I'm happy it's starting to show in my clothes at least. I'll have to buy new pants soon! -

It's so nice to know I'm not alone. I knew there had to be others. How do you stay motivated. What foods work best for you? Slow losers must need different tricks. -

I think it's easy to say things like that if you're not the slow loser. I want to meet people who are going through what I'm going through. There has to be more out there like me. Come on people, where you at? -

Very true and good to hear. But I am truly wanting to find people similar to me and MY experience. Maybe people in the same boat to talk to and share ideas. -

I had my surgery in Dec. I'm three plus months out and only lost 18 lbs total. I'm 43, 5'5", BMI of 39 I didn't lose weight before the surgery so the 18 lbs is total pre and post. I keep track of every bite and exercise. Anyone else this slow? I mean from the beginning, I'm not talking platos.

Slowest Weight Loss Ever!
EggWithLegs replied to EggWithLegs's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm starting to wonder if I have a thyroid problem. I need to get it checked. I don't see my Dr as often as I should because I live in the outback. It's 8 hours drive then hotel accommodations and getting work off. But I do need to see him. About me, I'm 43, I walk every day for exercise plus sit ups and other strength exercises I do on the floor. Like I said I keep track of all my food even little nibbles. -

I'm three months out and have only lost 17 lbs. I keep track of every bite I take with myfitnesspal and stay between 600 - 800 calories a day. I drink Water and get my Protein in. I AM NOT AT A PLATO! I have been losing slowly from the minute I left the hospital. I didn't have any pre hospital weight loss because the hospital I went to didn't push it so it's 17 lbs total pre and post surgery. I'm so depressed. I'm losing weight as fast as I would if I had no operation at all. I just wish I knew why.

Slow-losers/Low BMI ers.... do you ever reach goal?!?!
EggWithLegs replied to Moosewife's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
We are in the same boat. I keep track of every bite and exercise but it's like my body won't let go of the weight. All these people who say 'I've only lost 50 lbs my first month', it just makes me crazy! I would LOVE to lose that much. I'm three months out, working my butt off and still only lost a total of 20 lbs. I haven't even gone down a dress size, my clothes just fit better. I feel like I'm a failure. -

Have you read the posts on here about drinking more Water and getting enough Protein? They swear by it. I'm only on my third day so don't know if it works, one woman lost 11 lbs in a week just from making sure she drank 2 Lts of water a day and focusing on her protein more. I've also heard that taking sleep aids slow your weight way down. I was done in Dec 2013 and had only lost 15, then I got sick last week and lost another 4. I agree, it makes me feel a little angry, I didn't do this major surgery just to lose a few lbs. -

You are not alone. It's so frustrating isn't it? Everyone talks about platos but for a few of us we just live with the plato from the beginning. I have to keep track of every single thing I eat and stay under 700 calories to even lose a 1/4 lb a week.
