  4. Weight DOS 335, highest was 375. Today I am 217 down 118 since my surgery 12/03/13. Lost all my health issues...no more type 2 diabetes, no more obstructive sleep apnea...I added years to my life by making the greatest decision of my life!

    My name is Paula

Within the month of my surgery, I had such anxiety and cold feet. The first month is tough, but soooo worth it!!! It's been just over 3 months and I'm almost 80 lbs down! My flexibility and wind are things I've never experienced before always being obese! Just be excited for the new life you're gonna have and being able to shop for clothes on the "normal" racks is awesome lol
  9. My surgery date was Dec 3, 2013...I started at 330 (highest was 375) today I am down 79lbs and weighed in at 251. I'm happy to say I beat type 2 diabetes and obstructive sleep apnea!
  10. I'm 3 months post op...I still sometimes have weird pains on the side of my abdomen...the pain would be described as if doing too many crunches kinda sore stretching type pain, or even sharp shooting.. My surgeon said it's normal and should go away, especially the incision area near the ribs is one of the most complained about. Sometimes the pain is pretty intense. Anyone experience anything like this?
  11. I'm 2.5 months post op...I still sometimes have weird pains on the side of my abdomen...the pain would be described as if doing too many crunches kinda sore stretching type pain...anyone experience anything like this?
  12. I took 6 weeks and needed it, not only for the physical healing, and for the retraining of the brain of how to eat on the clock and researching the best foods you can eat to succeed! And just get mentally prepared to live a different but better life!

    Frustrated And Impatient Preop

Right now, the incision pains are getting better already, however as expected, gas pain can be intense at times... It's a weird adjustment to this type of eating especially when you're not hungry at all, but know you have to keep your fluids up. It's also an emotional roller coaster , but the more open with friends and family, you realize your support is already there. My main focus is taking my time step by step and looking to a healthier future when I can actually enjoy life again!
  14. Although my physical pain (incisions) seem to be getting more tolerable, gas pain can still be pretty intense still even with me doing all the suggestions on how to get through it. My main worries are not having any appetite and trying to intake 60-80 grams of protein as well as general 64oz of water throughout the day...I'm pretty much forcing myself to drink..should I really be worried so early out of surgery?

    Frustrated And Impatient Preop

This exact scenario happened to me as well...I kinda stressed to the surgical side of the situation and told them I felt my job was looking at cutbacks and if I lose my insurance I'll be out of luck! They actually pushed hard for me to get all the lab work and such as fast as possible...although this is life changing surgery for us, it's a pay day for the medical side, so when all is said and done, they don't want to lose a "customer"...I'm 4 days post op now
