Not long now until I fly over to Belgium for my operation. My consultation and operation with Dr Dillemans is on Monday 20th Jan. Really super duper excited but also very anxious at the same time. It is a life changing operation. I've booked my flights and booked with the hotel that was recommended to me by ISG. I quoted a reference and I got a discount with the hotel, which is 10 minutes away from the hospital. I am ready for this. I can not wait to get my life back on track again.

I have been recommended for my high protein and liver shrinkage diet to go on the slimfast liquid diet. Has anyone else used the slim fast method?

I kept getting rashes between my extra skin which was causing great discomfort I would have shortness of breath after climbing stairs to bed I'm divorced with not much of a future. My colleague from work got married recently and she made me think. I would like to start dating again one day and find someonw who would love me and find me attractive but I cant with the way i am. I've lots of tyres. Seeing myself on a photo depresses me Going down the road of depression and knowing that I had to change my life around before my mental state would get the better of me

I am leaving tomorrow for Belgium! My consultation and operation date is on Monday and I am feeling rather calm a the moment however, i believe my nervous will kick in tomorrow. I have everything packed and ready and I need to go out to buy a stack full of magazines. International Surgery Group have been fantastic so far. Hi and thank you all for your responses. UK Cathy, I'm traveling alone. Originally my friend wanted to come with me but she couldnt get time off work. I'm sure I will be fine. I'm a little anxious about the travel back but International Surgery Group assured me that I should be perfectly fine once I take everything easy and allow myself extra time. I spoke to Garrett, who is their Director of Surgery, and he told me he had a Gastric Sleeve himself by Dr Dillemans on September 16th and he travelled there and back himself without any problem. He did say to travel light though. He also took th same route (via Dublin Airport) as I will be going. He gave me a good tip to inform the staff at the gate so that they will pre board me onto the aircraft on the way back and unless I travel with Ryanair (which im not) this is always possible. Apparently, airport staff and aircrew are very accommodating.

The time is just flying and everytime I stop and think about it its as though time has stopped still but as I go on my day and not think about it ... AHHHH is all I can say

What is the "frothing syndrome"?

That is great news to hear. Hope that it continues to improve. I read and heard that unlike the bypass, the sleeve leaves you feeling no hunger because the hunger hormone "Ghrelin" is removed. It would be great to be able to experience very little or no hunger. My new year res? Going to go for surgery in Belgium with International Surgery Group very soon, I want to be able to go to fitness classes without being embarrassed, I want to eat healthy and know I am full without the need of big portions. I would love to go on holiday this year .... what about you?

This is it! No, Not Michael Jackson show but I have got my approval for surgery and I am going for a gastric sleeve at the end of January 2014. What a great way to start the new year. I have a BMI of just over 41 and I had the choice of the Gastric Bypass as well but after looking at both opertions, I decided its the sleeve for me. I am ready for it now.

Thank you and congratulations to both of you. I have health problems too. high blood pressure, cholestral and diabetes type II. I have heard that weight loss surgery can help these problems. I tried dietting the natural way but it did not last long. It was hard to keep it up. I am looking forward to my surgery now. I am very nervous but very excited. PS Happy New Year to you too.
