How soon after bypass did u start drinking alcohol? I know beer is out, but a friend is having a big birthday bash soon and I was wondering. I am only 7 weeks out. I will be about 9 by then. Im pretty confident finding what I can eat in social situations without feeling awkward but im not a big drinker as it is.... I just dont wanna feel/seem like a total party pooper.

Mine looked like that too...doc said it was a bit of a burn from the surgical glue. I am 5 weeks. All but one of my incisions are healed. -

If u can tolerate them... break up a few rice cakes. Throw em in a baggie and sprinkle the popcorn seasoning (i like the white cheddar) and shake it up.

Hi... great question. Alot of people asked me this. My surgeon told me since I have history of acid reflux that the sleeve was not an option for me. I really wanted the sleeve at first, I felt the bypass was so much more invasive... but I am 5 weeks out now and am so happy with my choice. I weigh in tomorrow. But last time I checked I was down 30lbs. I am hoping that I am under the 200 point tomorrow!! Fingers r crossed.

Hi... I'm 3 weeks out SW 244 surg date 232 today 209. 1. The anesthesia was so scary. I woke up feeling like I'd be sick, then panicked thinking what would happen if I did. 2. That the hospital I was in was SO noisy .. sounds silly but, it was crazy. Everytime I dozed off I was woken by slamming doors. 3. That some of my friends would be jealous. .. almost mean. That being said.... yes, my hospital stay was rough but I left wit no pain meds. Incisions are just about healed. No pain. No trouble tolerating anything so far. Some constipation... but working on getting more Water in. -

Where Are You in Your Weight Loss Journey?
tirsh29 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am 2.5 weeks post.. I started my journey at my highest weight of 244lbs. Surgery date 232lbs. Today I am at 210lbs. Everyone has said they see a difference already. And yes I see my face thinner. But my belly still looks so big. Bigger sometimes. Idk if its still air and fluids. But I know the scale isn't lying so its coming off.... I'm eating mostly liquids. Tons of water... protein shake and one small soft meal. -
Ok... I'm 5 days out and in woke up this morning feeling like I could drink an ocean. I'm so thirsty. I know this is supposed to be a good thing, but silly question...where is it all fitting? What was everyone else eating (well drinking) at 5 days out?
-
Hi S My name is Tricia. My procedure was monday... and same thing no pain. Just a bunch of crazy wires.. amd the hospital was so noisy I couldn't wait to get home. Came home wednesday and I can't sit still either we were expecting a big snow storm, so i actually had a friend take me out to get a few things with intentions of being snowed on all weekend. I am getti g around and moving with no problems. In fact as a single mom I don't really have a choice. So life over here is just about back to normal.

Had bypass Monday and feel great! absolutely no pain. Had some trouble sleeping in the hospital but fine since I got home. Tolerating meds & vitamins. Started "full liquid" today. How much am I supposed to be eating? Should it still be just the 3 oz and is that in addition to my shake? I'm afraid I'm eating too much already and im scared cuz I'm tolerating it fine so far..... Also is it too soon to take a peek on the scale?

I am 4 days out and all I want to do is soak in the tub to release some of this gas. But I obviously can't... the heating pad sounds like an awesome alternative Why didn't I think of that! Good Luck!!! Also the 1st nite home I had some heartburn and started the prevacid. Last night I slept through the night. -
Hi everyone my name is Tricia. I'm 34 and have 2 children. I started my weight loss journey in June at 244lbs. I am at 230 now. The hardest part for me was quitting smoking. But my surgery is this monday!

So I'm all done. Surgery was yesterday morning and went great. No issues. My heart rate has been going up a bit. I had some broth tonight. And off the iv. I had an oral tylenol, and couldn't keep the water down. The pills luckily stayed in. I've been walking to/from the bathroom on my own. And around the wing a few times. No real pain, just discomfort.
