    Hello all, Jane glad you're better! :-) Went to my 6 week checkup on Friday. Down 21 lbs since surgery. Was able to get off all of meds except vitamins, of course. Nurse talked to me about 2 types of victories: loss of pounds and loss of inches. Some ppl don't count that but it's just as important as the scale. She told me to stop weighing myself. She also told me instead of having a weight loss goal (which she felt was very achievable, instead have a size goal). She also said that I need to get in at least 80g of protein- that 60g is the minimum amount I should be getting. We had a very lengthy chat. I'm feeling better about what I've accomplished so far and what I can accomplish in the future!!! :-) Hope everyone have a great week!

    Down 100 pounds! :)

    Congrats!!!!! You've reached such a milestone. Very inspirational as I'm looking to lose 125 lbs. Any tips or advice for success? I'm 6 weeks out!!!

    Hey ladies! Thanks for the info Kathy! I'm gonna look online for those spencos. I love the Swiss cheese laughing cow wedges. The garlic and herb one didn't taste too good to me. I found some low fat/carb whole wheat crackers I eat with them. Went back to work last week, and It went pretty well! I ate every 3-4 hours. Took too much food though haha. My coworkers asked me so many questions and were very welcoming!!! I start regular foods on Tuesday! Can't wait to weigh tomorrow! Ttyl.

    Maitte, it's inflammation of a tissue in my foot. Hurts like hell. Can barely walk. Got some inserts and had to get a shot in my foot. It's a little better. Going to buy some good sneakers on Friday. Hopefully I can start back working out again.

    I haven't exp any nausea. Not sure Julie. Apparently stalls are normal at this point. I'm just gonna get my protein and fluids in.

    I had the vgs on jan 14th.

    I take Pepcid twice daily. Haven't had an issue at all.

    MJM, thanks. What are you eating? I talked to a vet today - gonna focus more on fluids and protein than trying to eat soft foods. Gonna aim for 70g a day.

    Dlm- wow that seems like a lot of money for inserts haha. Guess I'll see what the doc says. Toofluffy- I use the treadmill more than the elliptical. I think that's where this started. Soft diet - eating tuna, tilapia, salmon, cottage cheese, refried Beans, canned chicken, THEN veggies (small amount), canned fruit (small amount). I eat my Protein first usually chicken or tuna or fish ...... then top it with salsa and/or fat free cottage cheese. Laughing cow Swiss cheese - 2g of protein and delish too! There's a soft food thread on here I've looked at!!! :-)

    How's everyone doing? MJM, glad you got home. Hope you're doing well. I Lost only a pound last week. Not feeling discouraged but will go see my nut again this week! Haven't worked out, think I got plantar fasciitis. Gotta see podiatrist too!!! ????

    Dlm - congrats on your weight loss so far. I tried and loved refried beans too. The protein shakes I originally bought don't taste that good to me anymore either.

    I completely agree. It's definitely a challenge getting the fluids and protein in. My abdomen was hurting and felt knotted, so I took a laxative just to see if it'll work... Well I obviously was constipated. I feel much better now. Guess I need to increase my fluids and add some Metamucil or something.

    Mjm - I tried the isopure. I mixed with water and drank half now and half later. My nut says 40g is too much ... Even to sip. They're ok though. I start soft foods tomorrow! Lost around 4-6lbs last week and started the elliptical Thursday. I did about 30 mins but Friday only 20. Today I'm gonna try for 20-30 again. Feeling good, I go back to work next week!!!!! Still trying to get the protein and fluids in. Work in progress. How's everyone else?

    Well of course I'm estimating but I think I eat around 2-4 oz per meal... It depends on what I'm eating and how well it's puréed. I've never been able to eat my whole meal of course and Whatever I hve left I throw out or I'll try to eat it for the next meal if I want it.

    I'm learning that the key is when you eat puréeds, try to eat protein rich foods unless you have some protein powder to mix. It was difficult at first for me but I found some neat resources online. So like for breakfast, I had cream of wheat with 1 scoop vanilla protein power, 1 cup of free milk and a touch of cinnamon. It's really good and got me 18g of protein or so. For lunch - I mixed 1 package of tuna (16g) protein and fat free salsa and cottage cheese (6g) protein. So that's about 22g for lunch. And I've been sipping a 30g+ smoothie all day and still have dinner to eat. Online has sooooo many diff recipes and ideas for trying to reach protein goals. And having a high protein smoothie or drink with 20+ grams to sip or drink all day helps to reach the 65g goal!

    Dlm - I bought fat free cottage cheese. Gonna try it today! My pain is less, but I still feeling pulling sometimes! Mjm- I'm sorry you've been feeling sick. I'm think it's a good idea to see your cardiologist!!!! Hve you been getting your fluids in? You could be dehydrated and that's why your bp is low!!!! I how they give you some good news. Please feel better! I probably will start trying to conceive my first child in a 2 years or so... I'm 26 so I have some time and I was told to wait until my weight stabilized!!!! 8 months seems sooooo soon??!!

    It's the fast diet - mostly done by ppl who are trying to achieve their wt loss goals after 1-2 years of havin surgery. There's a forum for it. Don't hve the link...

    I'm still having intense pain too! It's more like a pulling/sharp pain - on the left side of my abdomen. I've been trying to not take the percocets but they really help. At my follow up appt 2 days ago, the NP said im probably developing scar tissue and the pain should resolve in a week or so. Hurts more when moving - getting out of bed, chair-to-standing, etc. Started puréed, tried chicken/bean soup, stomach didn't like. Had tuna today, it was better. But was only able to get in about an ounce or two. I get full soooooo fast! How's everyone else doing?!!

    Hazel when can you start your next phase? I'm technically still on full liquids but I had puréed soup once... Went down fine. I didn't experience any weakness or anything on liquids though.
