It would be great, but I suspect your surgeon will be thrilled with your results either way! -

I've had a great couple of weeks with losses adding up: HW 232 SW 223 CW 166 TPL -66 TGP -70 With four pounds to goal, I realize I need to set a new goal. I will wait and celebrate this one first, though! -

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
Texasmeg replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just had my six-month checkup at almost six months. I've lost 62% of my additional weight (my Docs longterm goal for me) and dropped my blood pressure into normal range without meds. My Doc walked into the room and was obviously surprised and pleased by my appearance and the results. It's a great feeling to have come this far in six months! -
Time off work-did you need more or less
Texasmeg replied to mochax's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a desk job and two weeks was perfect for me. I was tired and only worked eight hours a day for the next two weeks (I told my boss that in advance). I usually work around 10 hours a day or more, so that was a change. -
Eight Vacation Essentials to Keep Your Weight Loss on Track
Texasmeg replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
I went on vacation to Croatia recently and could have used some of this advice. It was very hard to find bottled water that wasn't mineral water. Mineral water didn't sit very well with me. Also, I forgot my B12 supplement and they didn't have sublinguals or anything approaching the dosage form we need. -
Tomorrow is my day. Getting very nervous!

I lost the first week and didn't lose for the next two weeks. I am almost at six mos. and have lost 60% of my excess weight. Just keep following your Doctor's and NUT's advice and it will happen!

going to the gym starting next week
Texasmeg replied to jaysleever's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sounds like you have a great plan for cardio fitness! You may want to consider adding in some strength training at some point. Muscle strength helps you to maintain weight loss, improves balance, have better skin tone, and helps you to avoid injuries. Good luck with your program! -

I haven't posted for a while because I just got back from two weeks in Croatia. Eating per plan didn't go well, but I got loads of excercise (stair master all day long). I did eat lots of fresh fish and didn't stray too badly - leading to a 1 lb. loss. HW: 232 SW: 223 CW: 170 Yeah! - I reached my Surgeon's goal for me! -
So, my bras weren't fitting very well (I wasn't filling them out), so I went in for a fitting. I lost two sizes around, but increased the cup size from C to D! I'm confused - have they changed the standards?

Unfortunately, it is expensive. My sister and I joke about a gym payment the size of a car payment. You can probably find a regular Pilates class that is cheaper.

You know you lost weight when
Texasmeg replied to Thomas CPA's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Just came back from a trip to Croatia with my husband and my 30 year old daughter and son-in-law. Dubrovnik, Croatia is filled with stone stairs. Our room was a couple of blocks from the main square and 77 steps straight up! I kept up with everyone (with an occassional stop to rest) and it was wonderful! I even kayaked in the sea and climbed a tower in Rovinj to overlook the city - wonderful trip and there is no way I could have done it last year. -
I highly recommend Pilates to develop core strength (especially with a reformer machine). It has really helped me.

Has anyone skipped pureed stage?
Texasmeg replied to Happysassyg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you understand that this rule is to protect a surgical incision? You could cause serious damage. By the way, my Doc had me on full liquids for 5 1/2 weeks and I stuck with it to protect my baby stomach. -

What do you miss most after Weight Loss Surgery?
Texasmeg replied to Menelly's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was a diet coke addict and couldn't imagine my life without them. I reduced the qty before my preop diet and that was rough. It was rough through the preop diet. The changes immediately after the surgery, though, are like hitting a wall. I think it must be like rehab for drug and alcohol addicts. Since my surgery, I haven't missed diet coke on bit. Five and a half months out, I'm thrilled with the changes to my body and health (normal blood pressure) but, honestly, I'm especially happy not obsessing over food and drink anymore. -
I like premier and also muscle milk lite. I kept thinking U'd get off the supplemental protein eventually, but it doesn't seem important to do that anymore.
-
I've had older people ask if I meant to loose weight (with that concerned look). I guess we will understand once we are that age.

The pretty face is still there! Congrats, you look amazing!
