    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Yeah the surgeon told me today that my health insurance wont contribute as my BMI is to low, so is going to be all self pay. Wow $17,000 (NZD) is a lot...

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Well i got my surgery date today, am going in surgery on 08/10/2007 and more than likely will be getting the Sleeve Gastrectomy or VSG.. so please keep talking to me lol... BMI is 35, and surgeon feels that the Sleeve is a better option as is less maintenence and less risk in terms of long term than the band. I put forward either band or VSG option and he recommended the sleeve. So figure he knows more than me so am going with that. Am scared and excited at the same time. Wow does this mean i am actualy going to be a slim gal and maintain it? How exciting.... Anyway will see how i go eh
  6. Thanks Devana... nice to get a reply )

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Well, I find out on Thursday my surgey date and also if am going with lapband or the VSG. AM really hoping tht i can still talk on here and get support even if go the VSG as there doenst seem to be any other forums as good as this one andi guess the thng is about support not about the exact procedure/ LOL well thats what i amhoping anyways.... Yes Soverit, heheh who cares... I have decided ia m nto going to tell the ppl at my work, despite the dietician believeing this would be good support for me as a few girls at work have had surgery.. what do ppl think, i see it as private and no one's business.. :ranger: Anyway hopefully still keep talkingon here despite maybe being a ring in and going VSG and not LB. If anyone knows a good forum with VSG can they let me know but the only one i saw there was no postings hardly... Beisdes you guys all talk a lot and i love reaidng what you all have to say )

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

I realise this is lap band talk, but there is also on other threads quite a bit of discussion around Lapband and VSG, so thought given it is procedure recommended for lower BMI patients, that some of the ppl on this thread may have had it instead of or after their lapband. Am quite aware that the majority of ppl have lapbands but would be nice to hear their opinions etc..i believed that was the purpose of thsi forum - discussion aroun lapband , procedures etc... hence me posting the above:)

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Hi All... I have a BMI of 35 and am at the first stages of the process where ia m still contemplating wheter to go the Lapband or the VSG. At this stage the VSG is winning as am concerned about the slippage, blockage issues and the ongoing maintenence of the Lapband. What do ppl think and is there anyone here who has had the VSG?

    Lower BMI

I am self pay and in NZ. I alsohave a low BMI, mine is 34-35 and I am looking at either Lapband or the VSG, am probaly leaning more towards VSG. Yep going to go look at the low BMI thread.... Thanks )
  12. Hi there, I am a new membber and have found lots of posts on here very interesting so decided tojoin. Am currently in the beginning stage where i have realised taht ia m sick of being overweight and then yo youing all my life. SUre diets work but only for a hwile then all that fat comes back . So am currnelty deciding whether to go the Lapband or the VSG. Am leaning more towards the Laproscopic Sleever Gastorectomy (sp?) due tothe lower maintanence of it and the fact that lots of people have discussed the PB, sliming and the onoging fills. THere seems tobe more complications with the LB than VSG. Admit VSG is a little more intrusive but long terms appears to be less maintanence. Are tthere many people on here who have had the VSG done and what are people's thoughts  Look forward to hearing from you. BTW am in New Zealand.. not sure if other kiwi on here or not.:cry
