    Anyone for August 2020

Happy birthday! I'm officially 5 wks and 3 days post op today and thankfully things went pretty well for me overall. Yesterday was my birthday and it was definitely different. My husband took me out to dinner and knowing that I now have a four bite max threshold, majority of my dinner was put in a to go box lol. Food has definitely changed for me now but being that I'm down 26 pounds, I'm not complaining! 😊

    Anyone for August 2020

Hello vsg fam! Just some quick updates. Had my surgery Aug 10th. SW weight was 250 and today I'm at 229. Doc says I'm right in line with his expectations. I'm on stage 3 of my diet (fork soft foods) and I learn each day what my new tummy can and can't handle. I definitely have more energy and I'm feeling more mobile already. If anyone newly sleeved has questions about beginning steps, please feel free to reach out. I've learned alot along my journey and I'm happy to share what to expect and what helped me. Good luck everyone!!

    Anyone for August 2020

15 days post op and besides some tummy tenderness pretty much feeling back to normal. One word of advice that I've learned and wanted to share with my fellow vsg-ers, this surgery doesn't fix your brain, it just shrinks your tummy. You will still be hungry and you will still want/crave the crappy food that put us all here in the first place. You have to genuinely be ready to change your overall eating habits to be successful. I'm down 15Ibs but I still find myself making poor decisions. Meeting with my dietician today to see if she can help with meal planning. I've gotta get my head in the right place because this is not an easy fix, just simple a tool to help get you on track. Good luck everyone!!

    Anyone for August 2020

Two days post op. Not feeling so hot but keeping my eye on the prize! Stomach area feels a little weird. Kinda like a mix between menstrual cramps and gas pains just higher up in my abdomen. Also having some challenges with getting all my fluids in because regardless how slow I sip it still feels like air is getting in. Any recommendations?

    Anyone for August 2020

I'm 2 days post op and I know exactly what you mean. Minimal nausea and gas pain (thankfully!). Just a lil confused about the uncomfortable pain in my tummy. Almost feels like hungry pains but I don't think that's right. I'm still in the liquid diet phase and jello seems to help.

    Anyone for August 2020

Tomorrow is my big day too! Kinda nervous, more so about the uncertainty of what's to come. But we have to stay focused on the prize. No more high blood pressure, no more pre diabetes, etc. The benefits surely out way the risks! We got this!! See you on the other side, congrats 🤗

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Unfortunately, I'm sad to report that after completing everything including my hospital pre admission testing this morning, I found out this afternoon that my surgery is officially a no go for Monday ...I'm completely devastated and I'm having a hard time coping with my insurance companies "pre-existing clause" denial...how unfair!! Now I have to wait another 8 months before they'll allow me to start the process over again!! Not only have I spent a small fortune on co-pays and non-covered pre-admission testing, but I called them back in August to ensure I was covered and they reassured me I was good to go!! This just seems so unethical that Cigna can get away with this nonsense! Unfortunately, I have an up and coming employment transition taking place soon so I don't anticipate having this coverage in the near future & my new employer may not cover WLS..hopefully my Dr can figure out a way for me to self pay cause I refuse to quit after all this work!! Any support out there? Think I need a little pick me up and positive prayers..I'm so heartbroken!

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Well my surgery date is quickly approaching (January 27th) and this pre-op diet is really proving to be a challenge. Tried muscle milk & that stuff is awful! Now moving onto boost & slim fast high protein shakes, wish me luck!
