About Me
I was lucky to have this vertical sleeve surgery and the young age of 23. My mom had this same procedure the year prior and I'll admit, I was envious, but still on the fence. I scheduled the first round of appts though earlier this year and chickened out and it wasn't until I went on a trip to Florida to visit my grandma, that she and my mom sat me down and explained all the reasons that they fear for my health. It really changed my view on things and as soon as I returned to Ohio, I scheduled those appts again, and went. In what seems like the longest 4 months of my life, I went to appt after appt, support groups to cope with binge eating, and anxiously awaited my insurance approval. Now it's a month a half after surgery and this time has flewn by. As of now I'm down 30 pounds and on cloud 9, but it also is a lot of work. This surgery has made me change my eating habits and I don't even miss how I used to eat, how I used to feel, how I used to cry. I know it's going to just keep getting better and better and I would recommend this surgery to anyone, as long as they've done their research and know they are going to a great surgeon.
