    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Help! Struggling with 2 week preop liquid diet. My surgery is 1/29 and I am struggling bad on this liquid diet. I know this is mind over matter but at this point my mind is just a little weak. Is there anyone who has gone through this struggle? Can someone please give me some tips on how to beat this? I do want to be successful with my sleeve. But if I am struggling now, does this predetermine my strength after my sleeve?

    Waiting For Approval

MsKeeKee01 Have you tried nutritionist Nancy Lum. She is great. My insurance did not cover nutrition and I had to pay out of pocket. Her fee is 240.00 onetime for insurance required 6mos as well as preop and post op. She is very knowledgable in bariatric nutrition. I'm quite sure she may know about ur nutritionist and may be able to help. She is located in Catonsville.

  8. Hi Comfy Blue glad to know someone closer to home is here. I do know that med star Montgomery Medical center does support groups every Wednesday at the end of every month around 6 or 7 pm.
  9. Thank you ribearty for sending me the md sleevers thread.
  10. I'm interested to know Md sleevers how has it been since surgery? And what are some of the things that stand out to be mindful about post op? I am waiting for my approval and a tentative date for December 30 with Dr. Singh. I am really anxious waiting and can't wait to be sleeved. How long did it take for you guys to get approval I have BCBS carefirst.
  11. Curious to know if there are any Maryland sleevers.
  12. I also work on a busy med surg/tele. It is very busy. I was told to take at least 3 weeks off not only to recover but to get used to your meal schedule. And still no heavy lifting for 4 to 6 wks.

To eat or not to eat

Congrats!. Notify your doctor or bariatric nurse to be safe. If it's clear not smelly and no fevers u should be ok but just to be safe let them know anyway.
  14. Good luck and wishing you the best. I am waiting on my approval but have a tentative date for the same day. I am getting nervous but I know it is for the best. Keep us updated when you have your surgery. I'm sure you will do well.
