Do you think there is a link between having an (to whatever degree) addictive personality and viewing going to the gym or working out as a habit, something one must do? I hear of people who, after doing it for a couple of months, HAVE to go to the gym. I am just not one of those people. I have to set 10 week goals and switch up my workout every two months to keep my motivation. I have a friend who does have an addictive personality tell me that all she needs to do is start working out and within a couple of months she will be compelled to go to the gym regularily. So, I am curious if anyone else has any thoughts on this?

Why do women have anal sex?
gingerbug replied to Oregondaisy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well, I think some people would agree that it feels good. It is something that must be approached with caution and when relaxed, though. -
On the News
gingerbug replied to MADE IT 2 MY GOAL..OH YEAH's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my case I went on liquids for about a week. I have hear other people say they got a complete unfill for a while -
My husband is offshore in Nigeria () until the end of march and since I am 'this close' to goal I plan on pounding it out at the gym so I can look fantastic when he comes home. To make it even sweeter, we are going home to MN for a visit when he gets home and only a couple people have seen me as the weight was coming off. It is going to be fun. Anyway, I am thinking about getting a trainer for a few sessions and setting up a 30 minute workout (not including warm up and cool down) that involves free weights and the bosu ball. I am doing a lower heart rate fat burning instead of cardio and yoga and pilates. I would LOVE to hear what everyone else is doing and what seems to be working for you.

Yes, and bloodwork told me I was low on my vit B and low iron. Taking supplements helped a lot.

GET OFF YOUR ASS AND GET MOVING!!!!!!!!!!! Suck it up, porkchop, and get to the gym and bust a move!!! No whining, no bitching, no excuses, ACTION! MOVE IT! (this is what I told myself when I was in your position not that long ago! Best of luck!)

YAY!!! Bringa pillow with you to surgery, it will help support you when you hold it in front of you as you get in and out of your car. Also a buffer between you and the seatbelt. -
My gym has a bootcamp program too but it is at 5:30 in the morning. I dont think my 2 and 5 year old will want to get up that early (not to mention me!) LOL If they change the time to later I would go though

Chewable calcium that actually tastes good?
gingerbug replied to Rhonda1216's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
have you tried the generic equivalent to that? I think walart has one and maybe it tastes better. -
oh, and I have this nice long muscle starting to run down the front of my thighs that I am really happy about! I guess it is the little things, huh?

I have to admit, stepping up workouts and adding circuits really helped me this week. I went from losing 1 pound a week on average for the previous few weeks to 2 pounds since I started this thread.

I am tall - 5'11" and I just read somewhere that holding the foot in the same position of the elliptical cuts off circulation. It may have been someone speculating, though.

My BP is usually great but I have a cuff here so I may as well check it more often

Surgery approved and done now insurance trying to deny claim
gingerbug replied to ladyblueeyes's topic in Insurance & Financing
This could be as easy as your doc office resubmitting the claim with the correct code. Call the billing office and ask them -
No, I hope it is not the shoes, I spent a lot of time looking for a pair that fit my feet leaving me room enough to wiggle the toes.

Ihad an easy time with UHC. BMI of 40 or higher with no comorbidities, 35 up to 40 needed two. 5 years of weights and I just called my GYN and asked them to compile a list of weights for the last 5 years and have the doc sign off on it. It showed my weight up and down all over the place. I brought that to my docs office and they sent it all in for me.

For those of you with good restriction, how do you get in enough calories?
gingerbug replied to Losing_It_In_Texas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is really good to know, thanks! -
Yeah, it is one of my favorites. I get some odd looks when I say that IRL

What would happen if Barack Obama were Assasinated?
gingerbug replied to TheWatcher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Wow. Just wow. I dont suppose this particular forum has an iggy list like some others do becuase there are a couple of people whose ignorance I need to mute. To answer the OP, I sure hope the secret service is on its toes with Obama, I would be pissed is something happened to him. Also, as a member of middle class america, I am happy to pay more in taxes as I believe in investing in people and communities and I believe I should pay more in taxes than someone who earns less than my husband and I do. I only ask that the governemnt not spend my money foolishly. -
thanks, I owe it all to the band and the ymca!

It took me about a month to stretch my pouch and a 6 day stretch of liquids to get it back to normal size.

I went to the hospital around 7am and was home by 3 in the afternoon.

Let's talk about POOP...FLOATERS OR SINKERS
gingerbug replied to health4life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well, I finally managed to have a BM and it was a sinker. I still dont know what that means and I am not certain that I care, it was nice to actually be able to go!
