Cleaned my closet - it played on my mind.
gingerbug replied to Christina40's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I totally understand. I freak when I fold my new sized clothes, I see them and wonder whose they are. Then I figure they shrunk in the wash! -
Just go and do it. Plug in some bad ass music and rock it out. I go to the YMCA and put both my kids in childcare there. I get two hours 6 days a week of child free rime.

Remember posting on the 'what I wont miss about being fat' threads? This is the 'what I am looking forward to/doing now that I am at goal/close to goal/on my way to looking and feeling 'normal'' *swimsuit shopping! I dont think there has been a year in recent history where buying a new swimsuit was not met with heart failure!! I am PUMPED to pick out a new one! *I dont come up with reasons to not meet dh's new friends or to hang out socially with him. I was running out of reasons to NOT have a BBQ and invite all his coworkers over! *I go to a workout class and I look like everyone else. Unless it is step class, then I just look like I have just recieved my new feet and am learning to use them for the first time. *A good friend of mine meets me at the gym and does not recognize me from behind. *I can go to the gym for an hour and sweat my face off, cook two meals, play with my kids, run my errands, take the kids to the library, take the dog for a 2 mile walk while pulling a wagon, manage bedtime and bathtime, all in one day and without passing out in a pool of my own drool. *I dont have towear baggy gym clothes, the cute yoga type stuff fits me and looks cute! That is all I can think of rightnow!

Maybe a reminder that your life does not, in fact, revolve around her. (or just kick her in the clam and tell her to STFU. )

How will fills be different than bandster hell?
gingerbug replied to als74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded jan 2nd and lost nothing the entire month of July. Had a small drop beginning of August then nothing until September. I had a fill in September, got it going again and then again in October where I hit my sweet spot. Hit anouther bad stretch mid november to mid december. Since yoou cant excersize, give yourself a break and let yourself heal and when you are cleared to workout, hit it like mad! Hang in there! -
So Discouraged. I have the small band....

I think a fill would bea good idea, you will be surprised how qucik it goes when you hit the sweet spot! -
I had to tell my mother that the only people allowed to feed my children are myself and dh. I know your pain!

I think some of the insurance companies ares tarting to realize it is cheaper to pay for bariatric surgery than it is to deal with the health issues of the obese.

6 miserable weeks. Seriously. I wanted to cry through the whole thing cause I was at the gym and writing it ALL down and it would not budge. I would gain and lose the same couple of pounds over and over again. Then one day, the scale started going down again and rapidly. Like, a pound every 2 days or so. Keep at it, it will happen. -
I am going to try a class tonight at the Y at 6:30 to give it a try. I suspect I will have my ass handed to me.

I know what you mean. My gym has several styles of elliptical and most dont fit me. They have one particular one that ismore comfy than the rest and now that I am exclusivly using it, my toe pain is a little less. The last 15 minutes of my hour I can feel it coming on rather than 15 mintues into it.

10cc and I currently have 6.7 in my band and have been at this level for several weeks. I think since october, actually. I have never had them take it out to check but 6.7 is my tally so far. We tried once to go .5 cc higher than that and nothing would go down so this is it. I think I have an AP large 10cc band, does that sound right? I am not sure if AP large is the correct term but I know for sure it iss a 10cc.

That is a big mystery to me. Oddly, I dont have to chew super well or eat itty bitty bites of food. SInce the last fill that got me to this wonderful restriction several weeks ago, I dont have any issues with food getting stuck like it did before. I cannot eat bread or any foods that 'swell' but I dont much care for bread or rice. I take normal bites (normal as in regular size person normal not stuffmyfaceIhavefoodissues normal) and chew a little more thouroughly. I stay full for 3-5 hours at a time.

IT'S OFFICIAL: I'm a slow loser.
gingerbug replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Woohoo! That is weight you will never see again! Who cares if it is slow, it is gone! Even if it takes you 4 more years to lose the rest it is better than not losing it at all! -
Wow, this really hit home for me. I could not agree more. The numbers on the scale are nice but the big payoff is when you realize you are living again, not hiding. By hiding I mean either emotionally or physically. You are going to have a blast at the wedding!!!

I remember my pre-op diet. My cat would not even come near me.

I am glad I am not the only neurotic one!

Hang in there, I know how frustrated you are. I am at the end of my journey and I am gaining and losing the same damn two pounds over and over again. The thing is, it will come to pass. One day you will realize you are gaining and losing the same two pounds only they will be two LOWER pounds than the week before. I feel like my body sometimes is just REFUSING to co-operate. 6 days a week at the gym for an hour or more of hard sweaty work and my body should just give it up! It just works like that and believe it or not, your fills will help take away that hunger. The hunger is what makes me want to give up and throw in the towel and I am thankful the band takes that away fro me. You will get through this and you body will give up the weight. Hang in there. -
Ahhh, I see! LOL

I am sitting alone on the clueless couch. What is the pjtp thread?

Do you take off your shoes?
gingerbug replied to argon's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I personally think it is gross to have peoples bare feet on my floor and I hate having things 'stick' to my feet at other peoples houses. that being said, I take my cues from the owner of the house or other people that are there. If they are shoe-less, I take them off. I do have some feet issues that I had surgery for last year and if they are bothering me I just ask that I keep them on since I am not supposed to be bare footed at all. -
I sure would not mind seeing those airplane elves dancing around in their panties. Just sayin'

I watched it as much as I could with two little kids running around and my 5 year old, who is weirdly politically aware, was interested. I am thrilled he was elected and I look forward to what is to come!
