Nervous About Attending Seminar

I think most everyone will be pretty wrapped up in their own issues and the questions they have to be worried about anyone else. -
Maybe having a fill will makea difference for you. Good luck
-
You are on solids already?

I am pretty excited, obviously!! January 2nd is my date and Iam really looking forward to being a 'loser' this coming year. For once my 'skinny' clothes will be at the front of my closet and I will be hauling the clothes I am wearing now down to goodwill the INSTANT they are too big for me. I am going to shop at the regular stores and might even have a chance to score clothes on the clearance racks *gasp*. My size is NEVER on clearnance. Eye on the prize...eye on the prize..

My cat wouldn't come near me by the end. -
It gets better.

It takes me about an hour to get down a protein shake. I am ok with water if I sip. I have absolutely no interest in food.

Good times, good times.:heh:

surgery is not an easy way out. Your family sounds like it has its won agenda and your health and well being is not at the top of their list of concerns. You could have complications, yes but what about the complications of being obese? -
Well, my first thought is that you are losing about a pound a week and that is a healthy amount to lose. Otherwise, are you holding yourself accountable for everything you are eating and drinking? Food logs and journals are helpful for keeping tabs on problems. Also, sometimes I dont lose weight if I am getting too few calories.

Hey, at least I am getting a lot of Soduka puzzles done (in an effort to look on the bright side) LOL
-
Yeah, I could see that being a problem, too! Have you tried the benefiber chewable tablets?
-
It sucks but it will be worth it. Take a deep breath and keep yoour eye on the prize and focus. It will get better.
-
What, specifically, are you worried about?

Tomorrow is the BIG day!!

Logging Food and Activity?

I use sparkpeople but I have used fitday. I have to hold myself accountable for EVERYTHING. Plus, I like that I can blog and journal what I am thinking and feeling. -
I wass miserable during pre-op diet. Seriously. My leather furniture was starting to look tasty before it ended.

i have a question about protein shakes
gingerbug replied to andielmt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I buy whey protein that is 110 calories and use dried milk powder, nin fat, and that is 90 calories. My doc recommended trying fat free pudding powder or sugar free jello powder to vary the flavor. I add flax oil and liquid vitamins to my protien shake. I keep it at or less than 200 calores and I view it ass a vehicle for missing nutrients than as a treat. My doc does, however, recomend 1 protein shake a day as long as I stay within calorie guidelines. Regular food is recommended over a protein shake, if possible. -
My doc has a low calorie high protien drink as part of the diet but he also has calorie guidelines he wants us to stay in. We are to stay away from empty calories. A protien shake, IMO, is not empyu calories. I add my flax oil to them and a liquid vitamin on top of that.
-
I am on liquids for a few more days ( I was banded on wednesday) and then thicker liquids for a week before onto mushys. I have to drink two quarts of water a day and a protien shake so I am sipping water constantly. I feel pretty good, though. A little tired. We went walking around the mall today and a quick trip to the grocery store wiped me out but it gets rid of the gass pains, for sure.

Wass banded today and it went great. I felt nausus (sp?) when I was leaving and I am doingwhat I can go get the gas out of me. Pretty pleased with how I feel, though, and my husband is being really sweet to me.
