Here's another pureed dealio that worked well for me today: 3. Pureed chicken in Campbell's Cream of Chicken Soup Combine in a small saucepan 1 can of Campbell's cream of chicken soup and 1 can skim milk. Heat until warm. Separately, drain the Water from 1 can of chicken packed in water (save the water and feed it to the cat ). Pour 1/3 of the soup mixture into a soup cup and add 1.5 ounce of pureed chicken to the soup cup. (Save the remaining soup and pureed chicken for eating later.) Microwave the soup cup until the soup mixture is warm -- no longer than 30 seconds. (14 grams of protein) Again, I'm not trying to get all my Protein now from pureed food, but am wanting to accustom my new stomach gradually to actual food. Best wishes to all.

Mio works for me (peach tea is my flavor).

Not saying you're doing this, but when a lot of people "do abs" they're really lifting their torsos with their backs. A good trainer can help you assess if this is the problem or not. Good luck.

The Last Person I Will Tell...
VSGAnn2014 replied to amiclvrt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hmmm ... if you have really eaten only 1200-1500 calories/day for the last year, go to the gym regularly, weigh 250 pounds, but and you have lost only 10 pounds in a year, there might be something going on. Have you been tested for hypothyroidism? You should definitely tell all this to your surgeon and see what she/he thinks about this. Very best wishes. -

(blink) FTR, I spent 15 minutes reading your earlier posts. I'm truly sorry you're having such a rough time -- both post-op and on this forum. Peace out. -

@, I remember that thread. in fact, I just re-read it: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/318315-scared/page-2?hl=+scared%20+tbahm You and I really, really, really differ with regard to what is "non-supportive" or offensive. I'm not saying you're right or I'm right -- I'm saying we really see this differently. Do you know what's non-supportive? When people don't respond to your questions or concerns. What's responsive is when people who don't know you at all and will never meet you are going to the trouble of actually offering ideas to help you out. If you go back and read that thread again, you will see the OVERWHELMING AMOUNT OF SUPPORT YOU GOT IN THAT THREAD. You will receive so much more value from this forum if you can focus on that. -

I'm far from perfect. And my journey (am only 2 weeks out thus far) has not been "perfect" either. But my own journey has nothing to do with the opening post. I do find it so odd that there's a camp here that seems committed to being offended by others' comments. Maybe we'll just have to agree to disagree on what's offensive to us. Starchild, I just read some of your earlier posts and do see you've had a tough time. That can't be fun. -

Here's what I think. I think this forum has attracted a segment of members who aren't actually on a WLS journey. The only reason I am here is because I am on a WLS journey. Here, I'm seeking inspiration and advice from others who, like me, are on a WLS journey. Maybe we need a new forum. We could call it: "Seeking only sympathy. No actual WLS advice, insights or experience wanted." -
You ARE an inspiration -- and not only to those you work with. Thanks for posting this.

Geez, not this again! For the life of me, I cannot figure out where all these horrific examples of "judgmentalism" are lurking. No one who ever complains about this EVER cites a specific example. Who hurt your feelings? Seriously? Where? Who? -
And that's the trouble with inviting fools to your table (so to speak): You then get to listen to them yammer all night long. I think a side benefit of WLS is learning how not to spread our business all over the place.

I'm 14 days post-op today. So far, my favorite pureed foods are: 1. Light scrambled eggs - 1 jumbo egg, 2 tbsp. 2% small curd cottage cheese, 1/2 oz. cheddar cheese (grated) - whipped together and cooked in microwave at 15-second intervals, stirred after each interval, until done. Takes from 1 minute - 1.5 minutes total cooking time. (15 grams protein) 2. Refried Beans - 2 oz. Rosarita nonfat traditional refried beans, 1/2 oz. cheddar cheese - cooked in microwave for 30 seconds, which is long enough to melt the cheese and heat the beans (7 grams protein) I'm not focused on fitting in all my Protein with my early pureed foods, but just getting my new stomach used to actual food. I look forward to pureeing some chicken soon and adding that (with some mild salsa) to my refried beans concoction. I also eat Dannon Greek Oikos vanilla yogurt (12 grams protein for 5.3 ounces) and drink a daily GNC Lean 25 Swiss chocolate (25 grams). With these and other things I've been hitting my minimum prescribed 60 grams of protein since Day Five. One step at a time. One day at a time. Don't have to be perfect. Just keep learning.

I had never heard of these creatures until today. They must be incredibly charming.

Help please, I'm afraid this is from a leak...

Call your surgeon ASAP. Please. No one here can diagnose your condition. -

That's one of the best NSVs I've ever read on any WLS forum. Congratulations to you. That's the closing scene in a WLS success story movie! -
My Dog loves me!

LOVE my Fitbit. I have the Flex. I move much more than I would without it. -
No, but my teeth are aching a little bit. But after all, I haven't actually chewed anything for four weeks!

Sounds very familiar. My doggie is my trainer. -
You guys are all SO impressive to me! Thanks for your examples.

Absolutely AMAZING transformation! So wonderful. But even more wonderful is your taking responsibility to form a local WLS support group. Now, THAT is a truly marvelous thing you've done. You saw a need and met it. My heroine for the day, you are!

elpasovet wrote: I agree with the rude/preachy part. I have seen that as well. Sensitive or not they are still a human being and shouldn't be belittled or talked down to because of their choices. Who do these people think they are? These people (including me) are WLS patients who think they are on a message board about WLS. They don't think (and I don't think) that we are your therapists. I am a WLS patient just like you will be if you ever actually decide to have WLS. Here, I have an obligation only to decide whether I will respond to your questions and posts. And if I do decide to respond to you, my obligation is to give you my honest point of view. If you really believe that everyone on this forum is obligated to avoid typing anything that would ruffle your feathers, then you deserve all the agitation you can give yourself. You have extremely unrealistic expectations for social media -- and of us. Once again, we are neither your therapists nor your mother.

Well, there you have it. You answered your own question.

If you've been very clear with your surgeon already about this possibility, then I hope he/she is prepared to deal with this. You really don't want to spring this news on them in the surgical holding bay. Best wishes to you.

My first stall, is this thing going to work ?
VSGAnn2014 replied to johnsydney's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well, there are two kinds of stalls: 1. Stalls that happen because your body's responding with WTF? I'm standing pat until I can get this straight! 2. People eating not enough protein, eating too many calories, not moving their asses through exercise, not drinking enough water, not taking their vitamins correctly, and generally just being uncompliant with their surgeons' instructions. My doctor told me that over the next year I should expect to lose an average of 1-2 pounds a week. So at 1.5 pounds/week, I can expect to lose (pow!) 78 pounds. However, you're a guy so you'll lose much faster than me (I'm a 68 year old woman). It sounds like most of your anxiety is caused by this event in your life that's happening three months out. That's a lot of pressure to put on yourself. Any chance you could dial back that pressure?
