Hello everyone! I have been silent for awhile, but happy to say I am back with a set surgery date of June 25th! Three weeks! I am so excited!

I had my surgery on the 25th. I am sooo sleepy, but otherwise doing pretty good now. Rocky second day, but much better now. Hope to be alert enough soon to keep up with what's up with all of you!

Hi All You Fellow June Sleevers, I had my surgery on Wednesday. Went sweet. But, no story is good w/o a little drama right? They did the swallow study...thought they saw a leak...did a contrast CT scan...NO LEAK! YAY, PTL, etc. etc. However, the bad news is approximately 25 oz of contrast gulped through straws in a matter of hours into a 4 oz stomach = extra day in hospital to get tummy (both ends) happy again! Made it home this afternoon. Walking, sipping, and sleeping. I tend to be very quiet (unusual) when healing. So, if I am silent for longer periods, don't worry...I just like to be alone. Don't even talk much to family. The way I am wired...so, I will probably next post in a few days! But, everyone still waiting on surgery! It really isn't that bad. Just be sure to be a scholar and pass that first swallow test!

DarbiMolly I am thinking of you as your surgery approaches on Monday. I am sending little prayers of perfect surgery and speedy recovery for you!

Cherie, I am praying for you. I wish I knew what to tell you, but I have not heard of this problem. If it gets worse during the night, I would go to the ER in case you need fluids. Bless you!

jdillon I love your positive attitude!

I had headaches/migraines for three days after kicking soda to the curb. I went from 2-3 diet cokes a day to 0 so my body was pretty confused. That was two weeks before surgery though. I'm 20 days post-op and still get headaches sometimes but it is because I'm not drinking enough water. Little sips throughout the day are hard for me to remember. I'm so used to just chugging a big glass whenever I get feel thirsty. Hope your headaches clear up very soon!

Hello! I am so happy for you that you are deciding this now. I am 62 and I was doing great until a year ago. Then, it was like flipping a switch and my activity level just deteriorated. I am having the surgery on Wednesday. Which I had done it before I wasn't a "well functioning" overweight person. God Speed.
