One of the objectives set for me by my Surgeon was to find a support group (online or meeting). the nearest meeting is 65 miles away. I searched the internet and found bariatric pal and decided to check it out. So here is my story. I was tired of letting my weight keep me from doing activities. Air travel , parasailing , zip lines, amusement park rides when you are obese are uncomfortable or just plain out of the question. The last straw was on a flight I had to ask for a seatbelt extension. I knew I had to do something. My surgery was on Nov. 25. The first 5 days after surgery I felt great except for the gas pains. The gas pain were sheer misery. Still having some issues with finding a protein meal replacement that's not too thick. Was quite disappointed at 1 week follow up to have only lost 1/2 lb. I'm not looking to be a size 5, I just want to be comfortable and able to do things without letting my biggest deciding factor be the weight limit.
