    Wish me luck....

This site has never failed me when I've needed it the most and once again, it came through for me. Thank you for your well wishes! It means so much to know that no matter what, we're here for each other.
  2. The most I ever weighed was 449 two weeks before my surgery. I don't even know what I weighed before then because there were no scales to weigh me. Today I weighed 187 and that's the least I have weighed in over 30 years. I'm still amazed that I have lost 282 pounds so far. My goal was 300 pounds lost by my 3rd bandiversary but heck, I'm not complaining!!!!!

    I am ONEDER-WOMAN!!!!!

Congratulations!!!!! I just made the onederland club a couple of week ago myself. I hadn't weighed until 200 pounds in over 30 years so I know how excited you are. Man, this lapband is so amazing and whoever came up with the idea....God bless them!!!!!!

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

Thank you all so much. One reason I'm so determined to be one of the "biggest losers" with the lapband is....I had several people tell me that I was "too fat" to have the lapband help me lose any weight and I should go with gastric bypass. I'm bound and determined to show everyone that no matter how heavy you are, this works! I just hope and pray that someday I can be a real inspiration to people that are starting where I did 3 years ago and help them know that this will work for them. Thanks again for everyone's nice comments and constant encouragement!

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

Robin.....I can most certainly change my weight loss to date to 267 pounds! I'm so very proud to say that I've lost 267 pounds in less than 3 years! My goal was 300 pounds by my 3rd bandiversary but I don't think I'll get there by April 29th. But I'm just so happy for how far I have come! I love my lapband more than words can say!

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

Thank you so much. You'll be through your 300s and 200s before you know it. My starting weight was more than your's so don't ever think you won't do it cause you most definitely will. Onto another thing....I see you're from Green Bay so I'm betting you're a Packers fan so Go Packers! I'm a huge Cowboys fan, no pun intended, and if the Boys don't make it to the Super Bowl, I sure would love to see the Packers go. But then if we both win this weekend, then I'll of course have to back my Boys! Thanks again for your kind words.

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

I wanted to share this with everyone on here but I'm surprised y'all didn't hear me yelling when I stepped on the scale at our health clinic this morning for my weekly weigh-in no matter where you live. I weighed 198.4 pounds!!!!!!! I can't believe it but lordy I'm happy! I've done through the 400s, then the 300s and now I've conquered the 200s. Look out 100s, as I've only got 28.4 pounds to go to reach my dream weight. When I started this amazing journey, I sometimes wondered if I'd be successful but I have been and right now I'm bout to bust a button and thank goodness it's from pride now and not because my clothes are too tight! Thank you all for being here so I can share my experiences with you especially one that thrills me beyond belief!

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

To anyone that has doubts that the lapband works wonders for people that have lots of weight to lose....let me proudly update my to-date weight loss....261 pounds! That's right, I've LOST 261 pounds in 2 1/2 years. It not only works, it saves lives!

body wrap as alt to surgery

I have lost over 260 pounds and needless to say, I have lots of "party favors" (excess skin). I can cover up and girdle up lots of it but the skin where I used to have my double chin looks like a turkey neck. Well, I went last Saturday to Body Wraps and had the facial wrap done. I can see a difference after only one wrap. They told me up front that I'd probably need 2 or 3 to get the results I wanted and I was very leary that it wouldn't work at all but I had a coupon and it was going to be $30 so I went ahead. I now have my second appointment for the full body wrap December 28th. I'll let you all know if that works for me or not. I'm sure hoping that it will work!!!!!

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

I posted and then noticed it had my old ticker on it, well I'll have to correct that with a quickness. Now if I can only remember how to do that!:help:

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I posted but I'm back now. To update anyone that might be interested.....I had my lap band surgery 2 years ago as of April 29th and to date, I've lost 231 pounds! I still have about 75 pounds to go, but there's no doubt in my mind, I'll do it. My band has been a miracle band as I've only had 3 fills in 2 years. So any one that says you can't lose that much weight with the lap band, that's a load of bull! I feel like a different person and quite frankly look like one, too. My band literally saved my life and I'll be forever grateful to everyone on here that has given me nothing but support. Hope everyone is doing well and I hope to talk to some of y'all soon. Becky
  12. I was wondering if anyone else faces this....I try to eat breakfast and I can't get more than 2 bites to go down. Lunch isn't much better, a two or three bites and I can't get any more down. But boy oh boy, when evening comes I feel like I could eat a horse! For some reason I can eat more in the evening and sadly I do sometimes. Does anyone else feel like this?

    They Won't Let Me Play!

The county that I work for has wonderful insurance that paid for my band surgery along with about 75 others that work for the county over the past couple of years. So that's the good part but...they are now doing The Biggest Loser contest and anyone that's had lapband surgery can't participate. I told them that a girl can have a boob job and still enter Miss America so why can't I play just cause I've been surgically enhanced! They finally agreed to let us play along but we aren't eligible for any of the prize money. I just hope I can make a good showing!
  14. I have found that reading this thread picks me up when I need it the most! I can't say enough how much it helps to know that all of y'all know exactly how I feel and where I'm coming from about every part of this lap band journey. I was told by a lady recently that she'd "heard" that the lap band doesn't work for extremely overweight people and I proudly told her that whoever told her that was full of....well you know what I said. I watch this show every morning called "I Lost It" and most of the stories deal with people that start their weight loss journey at a weight that I can't wait to get to! They talk about how horrible they feel and how depressed they are and I think, man I still weigh way more than they do and I can't believe how great I feel! When I get to that weight I'm probably gonna be dangerous!!!! I just thank all of y'all for always being here when I need a little boost!

    Question about late day hunger

Chabutter....I so needed to read that right now! I've had an awful week at home and work and when I went to weigh just a while ago the scale hadn't dropped in a week. But you just made me feel so much better! I'm glad to know that others experience the same thing I do about night eating. I'm trying really hard to control it. But have to admit that's it's easier now than it used to be. Anyone that says we took the easy way to lose weight by getting the band doesn't know beans!

    Question about late day hunger

I love this site simply because it helps you to know no matter what you might be going through...someone understands!
  17. Wow Paul what an inspiration you are! I so know what you mean about hitting "onederland"....I can hardly wait for the day that that happens. You'll be there before me so save me a spot in "onederland"!

    Found New Diet Popsicles

Today while shopping at my local Wal-Mart, I saw from a distance Sugar-Free Diet Dr. Pepper, Diet A&W Rootbeer and Diet Orange Crush Popsicles. Well, I couldn't push my cart over there quick enough to read the ingredients label and sure enough....carbonated water wasn't listed! I threw that box, along with 3 more, into my cart and headed for checkout. I barely made it to the car before I opened the box and grabbed a diet Dr. Pepper popsicle....heaven on a stick!!!! I hadn't had even a sip of carbonated drinks since the night before my surgery a little over a year ago but let me tell you....I miss my diet Dr. Pepper something fierce still! Someone can open a can and the smell just makes me nuts! But these popsicles are SOOOOOO good that I can't even tell you! With my luck, they'll quit making them but I see a new addiction ahead for me as long as Wal-Mart carries them! And only 15 calories each one! My day has been made!

    Found New Diet Popsicles

I finally found the banana popsicles and they are wonderful! There are two foods that I HATE with a passion and they are celery and bananas! But for some reason that I can't figure out, reading about these banana popsicles made me want them so I thought what the heck if I don't like them I can give them to my little neighbor girls. But oh my, they are so good. I just might have to narrow down my list now to only hating celery unless of course someone comes up with celery popsicles and I just have to try them and end up loving them, too!
  20. Thank you all soooooooo much! I'm really doing great since they finally have my medication regulated. Matter of fact, I started driving again yesterday!!!!! My six months was over since my initial seizure. Not being able to drive for that long was torture! But I'm as they say here in Texas....back in the saddle again! My neurologist ran every test he could think of and attributed my seizure to poor nutrition. He said I was anorexic. I told him I was the fattest anorexic on the planet then! He also told me I was lucky it was a seizure and not heart failure cause that's what happens sometimes, like Karen Carpenter. I'm just very lucky that things are going well for me now and I'm following my doctor's orders now to a T! I think I just wanted to prove to everyone how well the lap-band can work for people that had a lot to lose. But as usual, my being a bit of a rebel, got me in trouble. But I'm being a good girl now. Thanks again for all your sweet comments and prayers. I just hope and pray no more seizures because now in Texas if you're treated for a seizure you automatically lose your license for a whole year! I told them at the DMV that someone would just have to shoot me if that happened. Pretty good incentive to mind my doctor, I'm thinking.
  21. Two weeks ago yesterday I experienced a grand mal seizure and regained consciousness in the hospital. Let me tell you, that's not a fun experience what-so-ever! To add insult to injury I bit through my tongue in 2 places and that hurt like all get out for days! Well, I've had every test they could think of run on me and the best part...no brain tumor or bleeds. The only bad part...the neurologist thinks it was brought on by my rapid weight loss. He thinks my body went through such a shock going from the way I was eating before to how I eat now and it cause the seizure. I'm now on antiseizure medication 4 times a day and trying to get used to that. I told them at work if I nod off for someone to please just wake me up. Also, I am now not allowed to drive and that's a whole new world for me now!!!! Has anyone else experienced this as a result of drastic weight loss? Bound for me to! I told everyone before my surgery that with my luck I'd finally start losing weight and everything would fall apart on me whereas before my surgery, the doctor labeled me a freak of nature because I had nothing wrong with me when I should have. Hopefully the medication will keep me seizure free cause that's one ride I don't care to take again! Hopefully now I'll be back on schedule and can stay awake long enough to read posts on here cause I have missed y'all so much!
  22. Kathy...I haven't heard anything from Guitarman in a while. I hope he's doing OK. I found out one thing....coming to this site gives me more encouragement and motivation than anything else. I just hope he finds his way back cause it darn sure helps. And to Mr. Alex.....thank you, thank you, thank you for starting this site!!!!!!
  23. I haven't been around for a while but I'm back now with a vengence! I was banded April 29, 2005 and to date I have lost 148 pounds! I have a new life already but I still have a long way to go and what better place to get support, encouragement and answers than right here! I had some problems back in November, due to my own stupidity of not eating properly, I had a seizure and had to have all my saline removed until 2 weeks ago and I'm now happily back in the game! I still lost even without anything in my band but it was much slower but that was what my doctor wanted so I learned a lesson the hard way! I can't even begin to say how thankful I am to have been banded! My life just gets better every day. I felt sorry for myself for quite a few months but no more...I'm ready to lose the rest of the weight but do it right this time! I had set a goal of 100 pounds in 6 months which I met but I paid for it. I'm on seizure medication now and haven't been able to drive for the past 6 months and it was all because I wanted to lose the weight faster than was recommended or healthy. But I'm back and gonna do it right this time! I know that being on this website helped me more than anything so I'm back and I ain't going anywhere any more....no more Pity Parties for me! I've missed y'all!
