Sick and Sick of it.
Mississippi Girl replied to byjenna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
have you ever been tested for diabetes? are you going to powder room more than usual. there are a number of things that could be going on with you. i think sometimes we just have ingrained in us that we will not over eat, and it carries on. I have a friend tut's 3 years post op. I recently spent a week with her and i literally have to remind her to eat. me on the other hand., i can always find something to eat. you had this surgery to take care of you….so do just that….go to the doctor if this does not change soon. keep us posted. Starting my pre-op diet tomorrow
Mississippi Girl replied to Tracy Learmonth Shaw's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you will all do great. i am almost 8 weeks out. life is good. i would not change my decision for anything on earth. i feel better than i've felt in years. i was hooked on diet drinks as well. have not had one in ten weeks. my body does not hurt from all the aspartame like it once did. it feels so good because this tool helps me make the right choices. i know i cant' have junk food so i don't even entertain the thought. that's for today. praying i can keep my chin up and do the right thing. i certainly don't want to stretch out this little princess tunny i'm now sporting. that would not be cool. let us know how you all are doing along the way. it's always great to hear from everyone. instead of snacking, i go on here to check on all my peeps! Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl! -

Looking For The Right Surgeon!
Mississippi Girl replied to BubblyBritt's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I used dr. Ponce de leon. I was referred to him by someone else that had used him. I had no complications what-so-ever. Will be glad to share info with you if you're interested in checking him out. the main thing is….be confident in whom ever you choose. It's easy to be confused…especially because you've never had surgery in Mexico before. Good Luck. Mississippi Girl -

Day 19 Post Op. When will the scale change?
Mississippi Girl replied to yolicious1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went through the same thing. I think I almost drove my husband crazy. I kept thinking i was doing something terribly wrong. Bottom line…..it was nothing I was doing wrong. It just takes time. I lost for a week and now I'm back to waiting…..Kinda sucks, but I know it will come off when it's ready. I do feel the inches slipping away. It's not you!! Keep on keeping on! Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl -

Newly Gastric Sleeved
Mississippi Girl replied to LaniquaMatthews's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
i, too, wanted to lose a pound a day. of course i don't! I've lost 20 pounds in 7 weeks. not so bad. at least it was not a 20 pound gain in 7 weeks which is so easy to do. i am feeling better, and i can feel a huge difference in my body. i really should have measured but I didn't. I can see my collar bone. way cool! so even if the scales don't show up, there are still little ways you will notice that you are getting smaller by the minute. Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl! -
I had my surgery 3/10. The only time I regretted it was the day after. I only doubted it for a split second. I think it hit me that this was a done deal….a game changer…..no looking back now. that lasted for a few minutes then I started to remember why I had this done. Have not regretted it once since that day. I've gotten sick a few times. It's a learning process…this new way of life. Sometimes that one extra bite will send you over the edge into nausea. However, it only took a few times and I started to listen really well to my tiny tummy. Even now, it seems I can eat more some days than others. I just pray I never stretch my tummy out. That scares me to death. Good luck…Happy Losing, and I hope you feel better soon. Mississippi Girl

EASY WAY OUT!
Mississippi Girl replied to Chubalicious's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
i didn't tell anyone other than my husband. not even my children. It's nobody's business. There was nothing easy about the surgery. I did fine with it….first three day were not easy. There is something to be said about "silence is golden"! -
1 week post-op...and loving it!
Mississippi Girl replied to mcmallatt's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 7 weeks out and would not change having my sleeve done for the world. I feel better. I think better. I have a better attitude. Life is good. If you're thinking about having this surgery….do it! It's the best thing I've ever done of myself. Happy Losing! Mississippi Girl -
New addictions?
Mississippi Girl replied to Kitt3000's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
What an interesting question. I've never thought about it. However, after reading this, I'll have to say, I do read more. I do spend more time doing things my husband wants to do. Of course, I am on this site a lot! I am enjoying this journey. I will be on the look out for what I am leaning towards after reading this question. I lost down to a size 3 about five years ago. I felt fantastic. I gained most of that back, and have lived the life of a hermit. I was so afraid of seeing someone I knew…knowing they would say, "OMG, look how much weight she's gained". I did this so much my husband thought I was ashamed of him. To me, he's the most handsome man on earth. I was just ashamed of me. I never want to have that desperate feeling again. Praying this works, once and for all! I am a lifer. Started my first diet at 14 with just a few pounds to lose. Then gained that back plus some….. -

Stress eating
Mississippi Girl replied to meatball1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i have always eaten out of boredom . i get restless and go to the kitchen. I am working very hard to fight that. thank goodness i can't just go hog wild and eat a bunch of junk. first of all i don't keep all that junk around any more. i am seven weeks and have a fear of stretching my pouch. i hope it's not that easy to do….but not so sure. i've read a lot about people have more than one surgery due to stretching pouch. i don't want to be one of them. happy losing, Mississippi Girl -

2 days Post Op and Struggling
Mississippi Girl replied to kpay10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
walk, walk, walk! the more you walk the better you will feel. it's not what i wanted to hear and i'm certain it's not what you want to hear. however, it's simply the truth. my surgery was 3/10 and i still don't always get all of my Water in. i'm taking it one sip at a time. i feel really good though and an down 20 lbs., after a month stall! hang in there, it will get easier. Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl! -
Will I ever be normal?
Mississippi Girl replied to Dreamerforlife23's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
you will be able to go and eat anything you want. you're relationship with food will change. it's funny how unimportant it becomes…the better you feel….the less it will matter. Good luck, and cheer up…you're doing great!! -
I think we should have a Mississippi Girl's room.
