How much did you lose at 8 weeks ?
Mississippi Girl replied to sleeve30's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
At two months out I had lost 20 pounds. I had gone through two long stalls. I've now decided that it's going to come off. I am using my sleeve as the tool it was designed for. I am losing slowly, however, losing non the less. It's a beautiful journey. Sit back and enjoy! Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl -
I was a "super healthy" fat person until surgery changed my life. Was it worth it?
Mississippi Girl replied to LipstickLady's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thank you so much for the wonderful testimony. It's always good to hear a positive experience. I am so proud that you're living life to the fullest. That's amazing. I had surgery on 3/10/2014, and it has changed my life for the better. I am down 25 pounds and would love to loose another 15 to 20. I am already doing things I would/could not do prior to my surgery. Again, I'm so proud of you!! Mississippi Girl -

Recently Lost a Best Friend Because of My Decision to Get Bariatric Surgery
Mississippi Girl replied to Sharon C.'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Wow!!! Again, there is nothing I can write that you've not already heard. However, i felt the need to encourage you once more. Clearly, your friend has snakes in her head and does not understand the first thing about unconditional love. She wanted to be your best friend when you allowed her to control you. Once you decided to make a decision you needed to make for yourself and your health, she bailed. Thank God she did. He is protecting you from something…..Try not to look at it as a loss, but a gain. There is something better out there for you and you're being prepared as you read this. It's obvious that if your friend got so bent out of shape and jealous over this…you health and life, then she get's upset over smaller things as well. She did you a favor. It's her loss, not yours. You're an amazingly beautiful young lady. I wish I had done this years ago. I can't get stuck on that though. I did it. I'm happy I did and that's that. I pray you will have a wonderful weight loss journey. When you get to missing that friend, just sign on here. We all love you! -
When did you try salad?
Mississippi Girl replied to Sleeveless in seattle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 3/10. I am eating salad with no problem. I was afraid to eat salad in the beginning because of all the horror stories. Just goes to show you we are all different. Just depends on the tummy and her attitude. Good luck! Happy Losing, Mississippigirl -

SURGERY TOMORROW - STOMACH IS IN KNOTS!
Mississippi Girl replied to CrisH64's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are gonna do amazingly well. Mind over matter. Go into this knowing your gonna come out of this on the losers bench. I was in your spot almost two months ago. I was scared, nervous. In another country alone. It was a trip, no doubt. I would not change one thing about the whole experience. Good luck and prayers are coming your way. Keep us posted. Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl -
if you're going to the gym that could explain the gain. muscle weights more than fat. you will begin to lose again. you're more than likely still losing, while fat is being replaced with muscle. it's very frustrating. however, so worth it when you're body looks healthy and you're not all flabby! keep on keeping on girls! Better days ahead! Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl!

Mississippi Girl replied to Unhappysleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
crazyjaney, I'm two months out on 10th and have certainly joined the slow losers club. I am down 21 pounds. I look at it like this…that's 21 I've not gained. I am losing inches when the scales stop, so I'm good with that. you all keep in touch. Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl -
Very pretty food, AutumnPunkin, now I think I need a spiralizer! Thanks for the tips. Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl!

4 mths post op and still unhappy
Mississippi Girl replied to Unhappysleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Unhappy sleever, look up R. J.'s beginning…..she has many, many posts on here that are so encouraging. She's had a horrible time, yet she keeps such a good attitude. Go to the search and put in complications. You will find so much help from so many people. Stay on these boards… these are the people that can help you, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. The gentleman that has this site Alex, is great and will help in any way he can. You have found your support system here! Good luck. One day soon you'll be very proud of your decision to have this surgery. I am so sorry you've had such a hard time. This, too, shall pass. Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl -
Finding an after-care physician
Mississippi Girl replied to Kimberly Saunders Moyer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
don't delete it RHW! It makes perfect sense to me. You put a twist on this that a lot of people including myself need to consider. After all, the doctor is working for us. Right? I, personally, don't see the big deal. I know U.S. physicians hate to lose out on the money but getting some of our business is better than none of our business. I've never understood why people are so intimidated by doctors. You hire them to do you a service, just as you hire an attorney, maid, dry cleaners, etc. It is what it is! Hopefully I can find somebody to treat me shall I need assistance. Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl. -
wow! that sounds like something i would do. the good news is you're not too upset by it. i would be freaking out! especially since only my husband knows. you're a good sport. everything happens for a reason. maybe you will give someone else the courage to go through this. xxoo Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl

Starting weaning off
Mississippi Girl replied to marysminute's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have tried giving up diet sodas before. I have been able to do it but always gone back…even a year later. I thought that would be the thing I missed most. However, it's really been a lot easier than I thought. I stopped drinking them a week before surgery, and that was that. Good luck! You will do great!! Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl! -
Anyone not tell family?
Mississippi Girl replied to MIMamaof2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Only my husband knows. Didn't tell children or other family members. That's how it will remain. No regrets! No guilt. There is a lot to be said about silence being golden. -
i have been very curious about this myself. I guess my question has been answered. I was just wondering why so many people have to be re-sleeved? I'm guessing it's because they are grazing all day long. I don't think I have as much restriction as some, but hopefully enough to get where I need/want to be. I just never want to abuse this precious tool.

What am I doing wrong?
Mississippi Girl replied to Mississippi Girl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks for asking me! I am losing a little here and there Down 21 pounds as of today!! -
Have been watching the today show and they had a mother and her daughter that had both gone through WLS. The mother had her surgery before her daughter. They even covered how this is not a picnic and went into the lifestyle changes that must take place. They won a shopping trip to Macey's. Pretty cool! Maybe this exposure will help others to not be so narrow minded where WLS is concerned. We shall see. Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl
