    Ladies only

I was the same way. Tomorrow will be one year and my periods have not been normal since surgery. I've had test and changed birth control, they still don't know why. I'm not bleeding everyday anymore, but start spotting so I have to wear a pad daily. I hope they can figure something out for you, cuz it sucks!!

    Off the wagon

I'm with you! I'm almost a year out, and my food choices have been less than good. I've had major stressers come up, spent time in the hospital with one of my children and slipped back into bad patterns. Not only eating things I shouldn't but drinking more than I should. Here is what I'm trying to do, first remember why I had the surgery. I wanted to be healthy for myself, my children and husband. Second I wanted to be able to be active. Then I'm trying to remember all I went through to get were I'm at. After all the complications, . I never want to go through that again. We can't beat ourselves up, just acknowledge our choices and try to make better ones. I pray that we will both get back to our healthy selves!!!
  7. I would contact your gyn , the other Dr never heard of it she told me. Good luck, I hope you figure it out.
  8. Sorry if this is TMI, but I'm sharing incase someone else is going through the same thing. I had my surgery 11/26/13 and got my period 11/30. It was heavier and longer than usual. I talked to my bariatric nurse and Dr., they both said the same thing, it's normal. Well fast forward 8 months, I continued to bleed off and on. We tried switching my birth control 4 different times. They assured me that it was normal because of the rapid weight loss. I called my ob/gynecology just to get her input cuz, I was so tired of it. She wanted to do an internal ultrasound just to check things out. Turns out that due to my hormone levels changing so much with the weight loss, it spiked my estrogen causing 2 grape size polyp's on my cervix. Finally after 8 months of bleeding I had an answer that had I solution! She said that she has seen this in a lot of her WLS patients. I will have them removed on the 8/4 and should finally have a normal period again!

    Woman only please

I just posted this yesterday regarding similar issue: Sorry if this is TMI, but I'm sharing incase someone else is going through the same thing. I had my surgery 11/26/13 and got my period 11/30. 10. This is my first time posting, however I have been following since right before my surgery. I had a NSV that brought me to tears this 4th of July weekend and thought I would share. To some it may sound silly. I have 3 children 14, 4 and 2. I have been over weight all my life. When my 14 yr old was younger I was never able to take her on rides at carnvials or things like that as I was to big. In fact one time I tried but, had to get off because the lap thing wouldn't go down. Thankfully, she was to young to understand or remember. I of course was embarrassed beyond belief and remember it well. This weekend we took our kids to the 4th of July carnival and I was able to take my youngest on rides. I was able to sitwith them on the ride and I was able to get in a Trauma one helicopter without being told I was too big. I still have a ways to go but finally feel like a good mom to all my kids. Thanks for letting me share!
  11. Thank you. I guess I should say I feel like a more involved mom. we are always hard on ourselves as mothers..we just really love our babies, no matter how "grown" they get! I think that is an awesome NSV!! Thank you! I think you're right, we as mothers are always hard on ourselves.
  12. I made up excuses for 14yrs! I know you will feel amazing when you're able to get in! Best of luck on your journey!!! My kids said to me "I thought you didn't like the rides". I told them that for a very long time to avoid another embarrassing situation. Now I do everything with them and even took them to trampoline nation where they had a scale and nobody over 125 lbs could be in the little kid area. I proudly jumped on that scale with no shame and realized I was the only parent jumping with my kids. It was a good feeling to be right there with them. ALL THE BEST TO YOU!! When was your surgery? Can I ask how much you lost? That is absolutely AMAZING!!!! I bet they LOVED playing with mom!!![/QUMy surgery was 12/2012. Start weight was 246. Current weight is 109. Crazy, huh? And just like everyone I struggled my whole life. Who would have known there was a sassy little size 2 under all of that. Certainly not me. My sleeve is more than I could have ever asked for. That is WONDERFUL!!!! At almost 8 months out, I'm still dealing with one problem since surgery, but I don't regret it at all. Like you it's more than I could have ever ask for! I have a ways to go, but hearing from people like you and seeing your picture is truly inspirational!

  15. I just saw your picture....you look AMAZING!!!! Congrats on the rides and the 2 piece....you are rockin' it. I have struggled with some complications in the beginning and also not seeing a difference in the mirror. I still see myself 100 lbs heavier, I couldn't argue with sitting in the ride! It is all worth it!!!! Congrats again and God bless yours and everyone's journey!
  16. Thank you. I guess I should say I feel like a more involved mom.
  17. Thank you so much for the kind words!

    First Pangs of Regret

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation, but happy to learn I'm not alone. I had surgery 11/26/13, I too heard things like the weight falls off, you will have so much energy, and you will drop sizes like crazy. Well, I have not been able to eat or drink much without throwing up or getting nauseous. I havent been able to exercise much because I either don't have any energy, am sick or if I start I get lightheaded. I've lost 52 lbs but can't tell a difference in any of my clothes. My depression and anxiety have gotten worse. I've talk to the Dr, nurse and nutritionist, they all say everything is fine and to keep doing what I'm doing. I will pray that things get better for you and your family.
