  1. No more gulping! This fill is no joke.

    First fill today

This is exactly how I felt. I just had my second fill and finally feel the restriction. My Dr.seemed shocked that ok had actually gained weight from my 1st fill to my 2nd fill. After the 2nd, I can already tell this is a whole different ok game!
  3. Before this fill I was able to gulp a whole bottle of water with no problem. Now I feel like sipping is more comfortable.
  4. I just had my 2nd fill yesterday. I can definitely tell a difference. I'm on liquids for a few days but I can feel water stop at my band. I was so worried after my first fill because I hardly felt any restriction and was able to eat mostly normal food without any issues. I gained 8 lbs in the six weeks since my first fill.Im very excited to feel it this time! Im riding my bike for about 30 min a day and walking my dog aroundthe neighborhood so I'm hoping for results this month!

Help! I Was Banded 4 Days Ago!

Hmm. My port is up much closer to my bra line. I like the placement. Still having terrible gas pains. I feel like I can't take deep breaths without stabbing pains.

Help! I Was Banded 4 Days Ago!

This is such an up and down process!! The gas pain was soooo much better all day but as soon as I got home it felt like my shoulder was going to split open from pressure and pain. I stretched as best I could and held the heating pad on it. On a positive note, my jeans about came off my waist when I was stretching! Wooohoooo!!! These jeans have been so tight for so long that was a big deal for me!
  7. My surgery was 12/6/13, almost a week ago!! The day of surgery was a blur. I had to be at the hospital at 7:30am, which was over an hour from my house. Early morning! I was thirsty, tired, but mostly excited!! My fiancé and I arrived about 7:15, and immediately was taken to a "stall" in out-patient surgery room. Just enough room for 2 chairs and a curtain for a tiny but of privacy. I was hooked up to an iv and given meds for nausea. Before I knew it Dr. Grossbard was visiting me. He told me I was next on the list and I would do great. Soon after, I was laying on a gurney heading to the OR. The anesthesiologist walked beside me and gave me "happy juice" and I only remember speaking to the nurse for a moment. Next thing I know I was waking up trying to cough and catch my breath. It felt like something was in my throat and for a second I panicked until I realized it was just from the tube I knew would be inserted during surgery. Within the next 20 min I was walking the halls with my fiancé. I was happy to be moving! The nurses said I was doing great and could leave whenever I felt up to it. I came out of surgery at 10:30 and was pulling out of the hospital at 12:00! I had a great experience and can only hope everyone's is as peaceful as mine was!
  8. What a great story! Congrats to you! I can't wait to see where I am a year from now!

Oh my gosh, that doesn't sound appetizing at all! I'm looking forward to runny grits, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes.

Help! I Was Banded 4 Days Ago!

Oh wow. I've been lucky to not have the "stuck feeling" in my chest yet. I'm over jello and broth! Ready to start on the mushies!!!

Help! I Was Banded 4 Days Ago!

Aw thank you! To be fair, I'm walking a small, well behaved dog so it's not like she's pulling me around the neighborhood. I just use it as incentive to move! I just never thought this gas pain would be so bad! A heating pad is helping so much thank goodness!

Help! I Was Banded 4 Days Ago!

Thank you all so much! I've never felt like such a wimp! I've had to leave work early the past two days. I think sitting up right for several hours is making the gas worse, even with walking the halls throughout the day. I'm just going to suck it up and keep my eye on the prize!!
  13. I understood there were going to be gas pains. I walk my dog in the morning, I park far away from the entrance at work, and I make sure I'm mound throughout the day. However, the gas pains I am experiencing are awful! I'm taking gas-x, phazyme, drinking peppermint tea, nothing seems to ease the pain. It hurts to take a breath. Any ideas?!?
  14. I have made sure to keep moving, the longer I stay still, the worse it hurts to get up! I'm struggling to get enough water down, but I'm trying. I have some broth warming now and I can't wait to sip some! Thanks for sharing stories and th encouraging words!
  15. Yesterday was the day!! I love my surgeon, Dr. Grossbard. The procedure went off without a hitch! I'm feeling a little sore, but I'm making sure I keep walking. I have a Jack Russell and a three year old that keeps me moving!! Just wondering how everyone else felt the day after? I'm just so happy and excited about my journey I may be ignoring some of the pain!
