    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I had my six month check-up today and I've lost 85lbs which equals 60% of my weight which puts me ahead of the curve. YEAH! I understand that the six month average is around 50%. I was worried because my weight loss has slowed down in the last six weeks but I'm right on course. I must remember that this is my journey, and I can't compare with others. I see all of these high numbers of weight loss and think I'm not doing well but this just isn't true. WOW, the games our heads can play with us. I feel so much better now especially since I only have 24 more pounds to my goal weight. I'm so happy that I made this decision, and changed my life, and health for the better. HW: 264, SW: 147 CW: 179. Goal 155 BMI < 25.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I've been seeing my therapist for about a year, before and after surgery, and it's been a great help through my weight loss journey. I owe a lot of my success to Regina for helping me through all the reasons I have been addicted to food. I really hope you find a good therapist to help you also get to the root of your addiction so you can be successful in your journey. Bless you Mary you've done a great job. Put on your little girl panties Lol and finish this journey. You can do this

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hello everyone. I haven't posted for a while, so I wanted to check in with all of my fellow December pals. My surgery date was 12/18 so I'm three months out and doing great. HW 264 SW 247 CW 201. I'm so happy I made this decision, and I'm loving my new life even though dealing with emotions and why I was obese has been hard I would not change a thing. I'm so excited about my future active life that I'm beside myself, which is easy to do since I've lost over sixty pounds. :-) I'm so happy for all of you on your journey and wishing each of you the best. I know this site has been a God sent for me in the days leading up to my surgery and the weeks after. Thanks everybody

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

O my gosh. Just wanted to share this. I was sitting at work and look down an saw I had cross my legs. I was amazed and looked at my coworker and said "look my legs are crossed." She had a blank look on her face and I told her this was a first for me in a long time. We had a NSV high five. Yeah for me.

    Help me?

I gained back the ten pounds after surgery that I had lost before surgery. My pressure was low so I was loaded me with IV fluids and it took over two weeks just to get back to my pre surgery weight. So don't beat yourself up. I'm nine weeks out and just came off a three weeks stall. It was really hard to stay positive. But my body was still working because I lost inches not weight over that three week period. So hang in there this to shall past just follow the program you physician gave you.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Well dec. sleevers it's been two months and three days since my VGS. I'm down 52.4 from my highest weight. I'm overjoyed with my weight loss and higher energy level. The journey has had it highs and lows but the highs out weigh the lows. I'm so glad I made this decision and I look forward to my new life and all the activities I've been missing (but didn't know it). Wishing all of my Dec. buddies well and would love to hear about your progress. Miss seeing your thoughts, rantings, and ideas. :-)

BTW you Look great. Congrats. Answer to you question have you tried using any of the yummy crystal lite drink mixes like mango pineapple, lemonaid, cherry etc. Vodka really mixes with anything as it really doesn't have much of a taste and clamato make a really good Bloody Mary. You could make a fresh fruit smoothie using berries instead of citrus. Wow lots of possibilities.

Yes, the drinking while eating has been hard to break and if I do drink while I eat I feel the same way you do. I forget and will sip, then I get that heavy full feeling in my chest. I know it's because of the liquid.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hi everyone, I'm about six weeks out from surgery and have hit a second stall. So discouraging. Have any of you hand this problem six weeks out and what did you do to get restarted? I thought about just going on a protein shake fast day.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

My stall was about three weeks out and lasted for about a week. I was sleeved on 12/18. My weight lose is now steady and I really try only to weight myself a couple of time a week but that's not working to well. I'm still on phase two of my physician's diet. Don't move to fruits and veggies for another two weeks. :-(. Missing my veggies. My physician is conservative on diets. Hope that's a good thing. I go back to work on the 29th and I'm looking forward to getting back in a routine. I'm trying to get my daily meals on my work schedule to make it easier. I work some crazy hours and take call at least three days a week. My days can last from 10 to 16 hours especially this time of year when so many dialysis patients are hospitalize due to illness. Taking a big tub of my favorite protein powder to leave in my locker for those O My Goodness moments need some energy. Need some ideas on easy meals for breakfast and lunch.

    Discouraged

I understand how his words can be very discouraging for you. I asked my adult son if he thought I was a failure for having weight loss surgery. His first comment was "Where is that question coming from?" I responded that I was wondering how my family and friends were looking at my choices. His answer was, " Do you think I was a failure for going to rehab for alcohol abuse?" I opened my mouth to respond and stopped. Then all I could say when the light went off in my head was "touché". I too must realize I have an addiction problem and will be working the rest of my life to contain my addiction and my WLS is just a tool in my arsenal. I must make this journey about me and working hard to be the best, healthy, and happy me. I hope that you too can realize it doesn't matter how you get to your goal but that you got to your goal. You go girl.
  15. Congrats to you. Your at the starting point of a new life for yourself. Best advice I can give you is to make this journey all about you, and the new you. Distance yourself from negative comments, negative friends, and people that try to undermined your new way of eating. For me that includes family. When negative is spoken I graciously leave the situation. Surround yourself with love, peace, and joy. You can do this just follow the program.
